IMO,the "go 2nd card" Nib Droplets Dark ruler Evenly match Kaiju(anyone of them) Lightning storm But just try to change your deck so that i can withstand 2 distruption and play after that since 2 is average a deck can make turn 1

Against some decks, like Virtual World. If you don’t go first or have a hand trap, you might as well scoop and save yourself some time, because you’ve lost anyway. I only only play a rogue deck and it heavily relies on getting Winda out on the field before my opponent starts setting up his board.

@@Goldenleo16 Kaiju's have R rarity options, so you can absolutely splash. They have a decent range of options too, so if you're playing a deck that synergizes with the opponent having certain types of monsters, go wild Don't forget hand traps; Ash, Maxx "C", Effect Veiler, Infinite Impermanence, etc. are all solid go second cards too, UR quality usually but honestly a must have in many decks so worth a craft when you grind out the materials

Adding to this list: Appointer of the Red Lotus: I've commented this on the R version of this video, but later found out it was an N, so I guess I'll post it here again. This trap lets you pay 2000 LP and reveal your hand to look at your opponent's hand and banish one card from it until their End Phase. It's a bit worse in Master Duel due to the best of 1 format, as the card is most powerful when you're going first and get to activate it in their draw phase to banish a board breaking card or a starter and also play with full knowledge of what they have. Worst case the card lets you see that the opponent is going to kill you this turn regardless of what you do and you can surrender and get into the next game faster. Chaos Trap Hole: A counter trap that negates the summon of any LIGHT or DARK attribute monster and banishes it for the cost of 2000 LP. Obviously pretty niche, but DARK and LIGHT are the most powerful and most common attributes in the game and the banish makes it even better. Current meta decks that include such monsters are: Eldlich, Sky Striker, Drytron and Phantom Knights to name a few. Certain powerful Extra Deck monsters also fall under these two attributes, like Accesscode Talker and Zeus. Psychic Tracker: Level 3 Psychic type monster that can special summon itself if you control a level 3 monster other than itself. It's a good target for Emergency Teleport and just a generally good extender for any deck that uses level 3 monsters for Extra Deck plays. Psychic Tracker, Psychic Wheeleder and Emergency Teleport makes for a really nice package, though the other two cards are a bit more expensive at SR. Resonance Insect: Level 4 insect that adds a level 5 or higher Insect from the deck to your hand if it is sent from the field to the GY. Good for certain insect strategies (shocker, I know!). Nemeses Corridor: A level 4 thunder type monster that special summons itself by shuffling one of your banished monsters back in the deck. This card fulfills both requirementsto make Thunderdragon Colossus, a notoriously banned card in the TCG that prevents the opponent from adding cards from their deck to the hand. If your deck happens to banish monsters as part of its gameplan, Nemeses Corridor into Colossus becomes pretty stupidly good. Update Jammer: A Link-2 Cyberse that requries 2 level 2 or higher Cyberse monsters as material. If it is used as link material, the monster you summoned with it can attack twice that turn. Most people will know this card from Salamangreat, since it was their OTK enabler since before Accesscode Talker was a thing. Link this card into a Transcode Talker, summon back the Update Jammer and that's 8.1k damage right there. Nowadays you can then go into Accesscode, pop two of your opponent's cards and attack for 10.6k damage. So, Accesscode just made this card better

I love to see Giant Rex in here, my favorite deck I’ve ever made in duel links is a dino deck based around Giant Rex and Tyranno Infinity, using gold sarcophagus and card of sanctity. It’s very gimmikey, but nothing beats the feeling of going up against a blue-eyes Ultimate Dragon with an 11K beat stick that you built yourself in game

I distinctly remember using Tyrano Infinity as my boss monster as a kid which is part of why I built dinos when coming back even though I knew I wouldn't be able to make that specific hard work in ranked often enough to be worth it. I don't remember how I banished enough to make it work as a kid but I definitely remember making it huge and with nobody I knew as a kid having access to decent removal it was pretty hard to beat.

@@Xeroxthebeautiful I have about a 50% success rate since my deck moves really fast with mostly monster cards and almost no removal or negates, but has great generic lvl 4 XYZ options since the extra deck is free, so even though it’s not the best play style it is super fun. Good banish options I use are evilswarm salamandra, card of sanctity, monster reborn reborn, survival instinct, and soul release, which all combo really well with giant rex as a backup if you can’t get infinity out, and I use Bujin Amaterasu to reclaim banished infinity’s as needed

Geonator is my favorite, i love stealing opponent boss monster/floodgate monster with it. Once i stole the Fusion Thunder Dragon card, funny thing is this card has an effect that everytime thunder monster effect activates in hand, you can destroy 1 card. Oh boi opponent Didn't know it counts both player hands, he activates thunder monsters in his hand and gave me multiple free destroy. Bagooska which is technically a skill Drain in monster form is not affecting geonator and i stole it too.

In solo mode, the loaner decks do this thing where they mash two archetypes together that kind of sort of fit together, but not really. So how about top 10 archetype combos, where two separate archetypes just happen to synergize really well, like Gladiator Beasts and tri-brigades.

@@Neocyberman1 Fun trick is to have Magician's Restage in the deck as well. Witchcrafter can discard Restage for their effects and search one of the hands, Pend Magicians can even activate it on field for a limited Reborn of a lvl 3 or lower Spellcaster in their GY (if there even is any, Effect Veiler works though) and then pop it with Electrumite, or discard it with the normal pend magician duo for a backrow or monster pop, and then search out one of the hands. Restage + The Hands is just such a fun engine if you can get it to work.

@@animeking1674 I think that there's 2 good reasons. 1. They needed some UR cards in the legacy packs you get for free by playing duel that could be used to craft other cards. 2. The engines surrounding those cards need them to function, and are pretty awesome. But, this doesn't really hold up to scrutiny because other similar decks have cards like that in rare or SR, with the big boss monster being UR. So, the big Red-Eyes fusion boss monster makes sense as UR, but Red-Eyes itself makes more sense as a rare or SR card. I guess they just get a bump up for being iconic and sought-after.

I used geonator transverser in my (currently budget) tellarknight deck to have an easy way to send 2 of my xyzs to the GY so they can special summon monsters, it was also a climb tool to decode talker and I stole some monsters like madame verre and eldritch so yeah, really good card, specially if you have monster who float.

Ah yes, so let's say you play Ego Boost on a monster that is unaffected. You can still target it and select it. The effect just wont be applied. You can select your paleo thing and your opponent's monster to just steal their monster. Unless there's some ruling I'm missing. I might test this in master duel

Gaia Plate the Earth Giant is an excellent boss monster that can beat over pretty much anything with less than 5600atk. Gaia is only normal rarity, so I definitely recommend him for F2P Rock Decks. Gaia is very strong

Funny how back to back cards see play in Dino. Giant Rex is an extremely good extender, because you’ll quite often only have one lv4 on field, but will more often than not have a way to get to UCT. If you get the Giant Rex to hand grave (usually Ovi effect), you get a free lv4 on field to go into your Dolkka or Laggia. Pentestag is just a little busted in Dino, because 3 monsters on your opponent’s field usually means you can OTK with UCT. While it’s a nice utility card in other decks, it actually is one of the main ways you OTK in Dino.

Top 10 cards for a Bo1 format. Master Duel's single game format allows for certain cards and archetypes to be stronger than in any other format since you can't sidedeck outs. That's why Eldlich dominates the ladder so much. So showing off some cards that are uniquely powerful in it would be cool.

Hearing about how detaching xyzs somehow doesn't count as leaving the field reminds me of a video series I've wanted for a while - tutorials explaining how in God's name everything from synchros to pendulums works because even after watching literally all of your top tens for years I still have no idea what scales do or why they're good, for example. As the ygotuber for us old fuddies who stopped when fusions were shiny and new, I think you'd do the best job of making catching up engaging :p (I'm the kind of weirdo who admires card games and their art and theory crafting but has no desire to actually play one because they're competitive and I hate fighting XP)

I once encountered a player who used the hand sharks to bring out Crooked Cook in defense mode, then delayed to get Final Countdown. The moment I saw them play that card, I realized their plan. I had Pentestag in my deck, but they got past that quickly via Lava Golems. My plan B (which also got Lava Golem'd twice) was Jormungandr to try and deck them out before I ran out of turns, but I was too slow at getting it out the first time and they still had deck left before the 20 turn. Their strategy was frustrating, but I didn't actually feel cheated by their victory. They didn't rely solely on the combo, and I did have a couple outs but I misplayed them. I actually saved the replay so I could learn from it. I also immediately after added a Kaiju to my deck as a necessary evil from then on. 🐍

Update Jammer's pretty cool. He's a 2000 ATK LINK 2 monster that can just lock your opponent out of activating effects when he attacks. Also, when you Extra Link Jammer, the Link that Extra Linked him gets to attack 2 times.

Nebula Dragon is another N rarity card that can XYZ/link material. You just reveal itself and another level 8 monester; you get to special summon them. It does lock you into only light/dark dragons, but with light/dark dragons having lots of extra deck or regular deck options to select its pretty easy to use.

If you can link a Borrelsword Dragon to Pentestag, then you can get both of it's attacks doing damage if you need to target an opponent's attack position monster to enable its 2nd attack.

Question for duel logs, ive been considering dropping one of the 3 suits in my extra deck (hayate/shizuku) to 2 in order to increase versatility, transverser wouldn't be a good fit because of the whole main monster zone-sky striker spell thing, any ideas for options or should I just stick with 3/3

You may get away with 2 Hayate, since you only need to poke for 3000 before going into Accesscode (the only problem is always to force playing Effect Veiler, Halqifibrax, and Selene too) or your choice of OTK (Borrelsword Dragon [a bit inconsistent without Glow-Up Bulb and something like that] or Utopia Double). Shizuku on the other hand, you want to play 3 copies in case your Shizuku leave the field, and you have Raye on GY, you can SS Raye then immediately go into Shizuku again for search during your opponent's End Phase, unless you need to go into Kaina so Shizuku didn't get destroyed in the next 5 seconds if they still attack it. My Extra Deck goes like this: 3 Hayate, 1 Kagari, 3 Shizuku, 1 Kaina, 2 Zeke (or 1 depend on what you have in mind), 1 Halqifibrax, 1 Selene, 1 Accesscode, 1 Phoenix, 1 Borrelsword. Waiting for that Linkage! so we don't need to play a goddamn Borrelsword or Accesscode Package. Depend on the board, sometime you don't mind having monster in MMZ in order to use Geonator (the same case when you steal using Widow Anchor or Shark Cannon), since you can just Link it to something (even better if you steal Link), as fodder for Area Zero or Multirole. And you need to summon to MMZ in order to go into Accesscode or your OTK choice.

Not duel logs, but... Honorable Sky Striker Ace cards that have a ton of play in TCG and OCG, but barely mentioned by SS guides are the Charmer link monsters. They help link climbing and sometimes able to steal boss monster. 1 Zeke is more than enough and recently dropped 1 Hayate for Hiita. I always find myself summoning Lyna and Hiita a lot. Tried to replace 1 Shizuku for Aussa, but 2 Shizuku is sadly not enough in my build.

I like geonator. I use it in conjunction with zombie mammoth, Giant Kozaky with creature swap, mystic box in the deck to give them stuff that burns them. Deck is terribly fun and original

It's not very generic, but Phantom Knights of Cursed Javelin is a hot meme tech that's normal rarity xyz for level 2 decks. You do need to splash PK traps so you can use it as a quick effect, but it is a budget monster negate. The best way to play it is probably in a budget PK Paleo deck.
