My only criticism of the series is the depiction of the Duchess of Windsor. She was never in love with her husband, so the scene where she tells Charles to marry for love is completely fictitious. Moreover, far from being indifferent to whether or not he got a job back in England, she was constantly nagging him to get one because was bored to tears with having him underfoot all day (he had no interests but golf, money and the Duchess, and therefore was without much to do most of the time). Also, she figured if he got a job back in England or at least representing him abroad, she would work her way back into acceptance by the royal family and maybe even get her coveted HRH.
