"I am protecting the PM. I am protecting the constetuion. I am protecting democrocy." Also when she scolded her third PM. And her talk with Margret in season 3, episode 10. But my absolute favorite is her saying to Lord Mountbatten "I am protecting democrocy"

Both Claire and Olivia portrayed Elizabeth at different stages of her life extraordinarily well. I'm excited to see Imelda Staunton take on the character into the next two seasons. 👑💞

This series is amazing. Not because it's about royals, because it's about their humanity and thereby about our humanity!

I loved the part when the Queen mother Mary bowed down to the new Queen it had to be hard but she did it. I also love the scene when King George sang with Princess Margaret the night before he died and the whole household just loved it. Princess Margaret felt that she was losing her father soon and she did that very night. I loved the Queen and Prince Philip's trip to Africa. Oh yes I loved when Winston Churchill made his speech after the King's death. Winston shut up all of his little underlings.

My personal theory is that QEII had difficulty in expressing emotions (particularly publicly) was because her coping mechanism was to stifle emotions and put on a stiff upper lip. She did spend some of her formative years in WWII, so that experience probably stayed with her for the rest of her life.

This is such an outstanding series that there is no other drama currently that can touch it. Actors are absolutely incredible in this entire series. But one of my favorite scenes is after the Aberfan tragedy. The conversation between Queen Elizabeth and Harold Wilson is simply riveting. Just a marvelous piece of cinema in total.

Expressing the fact he wanted to show the Welsh people as he learn about the culture, the history and language they hold dear. He respected it and by doing that by showing respect he earn his right and their respect to be their Prince and future King.

I kind of disagree with number four. She did make small comments about Lord Altrincham rank and choice of words, but ultimately, it was a wakeup call and she agreed with him and had to keep up with a progressing country. Not only did she start following his suggestions, the first being the Christmas broadcast, she credits him for saving the monarchy. She didn't call him out. She listened and responded.
@lynne7092 жыл бұрын
She actually did call him out by forcing him to express his criticism to her face. He wrote an article that don’t just attack the monarchy but the Queen herself. She reminded him that she’s in addition to all that she represents she’s also a human being.
@bricktam2 жыл бұрын
@@lynne709 That's a good way to look at it and it really does show the Queen being human. It's hard for me to see it that way because LA really did want her and the monarchy to succeed and she could say whatever she wants to him but ultimately, she does serve the people, including himself and his criticisms led to great changes.

I am sad that some people actually think that all is fact. The Queen and the royal family have been through enough. Not just screwing up the timeline, so Charles once again is the villain. Bringing Hate over the family again. NOT cool !!! Making up what they are saying to each other, once again bring hate over the royal family. Please start the intro with telling people that it is fiction, and not real.
