can you please find a way to make a build that supports sekiro parry style, i am checking every weapons guard bosts, it doesnt matter if weapons have good resistance against magic,holy damage nagotation, the opaline hardtear protects against all damages ( a.k.a sekiro tear ), i tested myself, if you have a shield that has guard boost over 75 with erdtree favor +2, veridian amber medallion +2 , greatshield talisman ( for %20 guard bosst ) and another wonderous physic tear for stamina, you can make a sekiro build, im trying to find a way to boost the guard bost of weapons, maybe by adding extra points to endurance might help, can you please help ? i realy want to make a sekiro build, i made a realy bad build that can block every attack of final dlc boss ( wont write name due to spoilers but you know who ) and it worked like magic, every attack he makes hardly takes one tiny bit of stamina

The thing that actually surprised me was the Carian Thrusting Shield being good. I genuinely thought it was terrible while trying to use the default Thrusting Shield ash, which is kind of bad.

Ansbach's longbow is criminally underrated as it acts like a light bow, like the black bow. However, it has more damage than the black bow and an unique ash of war which is borderline broken, where it shoots 8 arrows at once, doing incredible damage, building status ridiculously fast and can be spammed quickly as it acts like a stance that never ends until you let go of L2 (like barrage), all for 12 fp and at a far range. To put it into perspective, I killed Starscourge Radahn with 6 uses of the ash in ng+3. Bowbros we are so back.

A fun thing about the pata. In 1.12 fist weapons had some of it's heavy attacks stun duration reduced. Because against other players and tarnished enemies it could true combo with running heavy into uncharged heavy attack. Patas however did not get this changed. The weapon that is probably the main reason why this change happened and can best use it with it's fantastic range for a fist weapon.

Its been talked about a little bit but ive been LOVING Ansbach's Longbow, the fact it has a shortbow moveset on a longbow whilst having the 8-shot Ash Of War which is so good for building up status effects switching between that, a light greatsword and then the Spear Of The Impaler (i just personally love it so much) has been a blast

Is it better than the Black Bow, which also has a shortbow moveset? Does shotgunning things like you're playing Monster Hunter have higher ammo efficiency or DPS than the Barrage on the Black Bow? Some people claim it has a hit limit of two on a single target, some say the arrows get less damage per hit, others say the arrows get more damage per hit. What's going on with the ash?

Deathknight Longhaft is insanely good. I was honestly surprised to find out just how stupid fast the greataxe moveset is when trying that and the Putrescent pasta knife (which is a meme, but at least it's a viable meme). In comparison... The twinaxes could use a little tiny bit of hyper armor, and then they'd be about as good sidegrades for Dex/Fth folks. Hopefully it happens this week or something so that multihit abuse can really get to work.

The lizard great sword is just an upgraded claymore and it’s crazy more people arnt using it, I just fire infused it on my strength build and it makes my claymore obsolete no statues build up needed

I've been liking the Smithscript Cirque. The throw may be short range but it does give you a safe poking option on a melee weapon. Also jumping in and throwing the weapon has caught quite a few people off guard. I think the jump throw really makes them excel over the traditional backhand blades.

I actually started playing the Cirque today 😂 So far I see quite a lot of Pro's Mine is with over 100 Frost so its really easy to proc. 1. The running R2 is really nice. It curves just enought to more often then not hit enemys behind shields. That was so far quite the downsides of the smith script weapons. 2. They look really cool when using running R2 and Blindspot directly after. Since they curve from right to left and you from left to right you hit the enemy from both sides at the same time😂 3. Thanks to the jumping or running R2 you can easaly put frost an any enemy from a save distance.

So why would you use the black steel twinblade over the peeler on a bleed build? The holy damage? Or you were saying more for faith/int builds? Great call on the dueling sheild with scholars sheild, hard stuck on radhan and seeing that maybe the only real way to get past him is turtle builds, was having a hard time finding something that works for a dex/int build tho. This was a great call man thanks!

The lightning AoW on the flower gavel is really good for chasedowns in PVP. Most people roll too early if you charge it.

I’d argue that the Claws of Night are super slept on. I wouldn’t say their OP but it’s a very good weapon. They’re claws which deal very decent damage but what makes them crazy is their ash of war: Scattershot Throw. Which can deal extremely good damage up close and on larger enemies when all the knives hit, but what’s makes the ash crazy is that the bleed build up is the same no matter how many projectiles hit a target, thus you can spam the ash from a far and get really decent build up and the target cannot avoid it because the projectiles get thrown in a fan pattern. The only sucky thing about the weapon is that the R2’s are really bad but otherwise very good weapon.

Don't forget the flowerstone gavel AoW can be charged and that increases not only damage but the debuf it aplies froma around 10% to 30%

Statistically, the Lizard Greatsword may be the single strongest infusable greatsword in the game. It has top 3 base AR out of all the normal greatswords, only slightly trailing the Iron Greatsword while being 2.5 less weight. The ranged shot gives it insane reach, its status buildup is the highest due to the double hit, its stat requirements are virtually nonexistent... Somehow this random lizard on a stick might be a straight upgrade to anything that isn't unique in its class. Plus if you infuse cold Carian Sovereignty it's basically a baby version of the DMGS.

Put blood tax AOW on sword Lance and run a gaurd counter build and when they get stunned on the shield L2 instead of R2 you have time to get the blood tax off and with 169 bleed build up its quite enjoyable

The Blackhand Blade also does pierce damage, so you could use the spear talisman. I’m using it in my dex build with a lightning infusion, feels like a blender

Little note on the thrusting shield: if you're worried about elemental damage, use immutable shield. It completely negates ALL elemental damage when blocking. Much better than spending that talisman slot, imo.

@syrobe Fair point, and I understand the reasoning behind the pearlshield talisman. I was having this discussion with someone in the official discord earlier, and I don't know the exact math behind it - but it may be more beneficial or "easier on the build" to leverage the elemental barrier spells instead of the pearlshield, since the barriers offer 65% resist vs the 20% the pearlshield offers only when blocking. Not sure how it'd work out mathematically though, could be a neat video for you to explore it!

@@syrobe What ash are you throwing onto the shield, anyway? Cragblade overwrites Scholar's Armament, but I find that the Scholar buff is so absurdly good it's basically irreplaceable. I've been running cold shield with Spinning Weapon for the Carian magic knight roleplay nonsense, and honestly, it's a massive enough weapon that it makes for a good cold blender. I know Blood Tax is good on it, Endure is actually pretty fun (albeit gimmicky) for hotswapping to the staff and dunking a Rellana's Moons all of a sudden... But I can't really pick. Kind of wish Waves of Darkness could go on it. And what talismans, for that matter? Currently sitting on Dragon Greatshield for general beefiness, Greatshield greatshield, Pearl Shield, and Old Lord for the comfort of having Blessing's Boon+Golden Vow+Scholar's Armament last for ages. I'd probably drop Great Beyond if I could find a replacement for having Blessing+Vow and Heal From Afar on demand that fits better with a full Carian Knight theme, and then run the moon staff to swap between 2h shield, shield and staff, shield and Rellana LGS, and dual LGS as needed. Great Beyond is just way too convenient though.

At least From gave holy dmg some love in the DLC. My holy dmg characters have been slapping. Lot of DLC enemies and bosses weak to holy and a lot of bosses are standing in water so that’s a net nerf to fire, buff for lightning and neutral for holy and magic.

Rakshasa's Great Katana is my baby tbh. The moveset is basic as hell but so realiable. Plus the heavies being pokes is massive. Messmers Impaler would be my go to if it could do normal heavies. Ranged attack is cool on horse back but suffers alot against bosses imo

Obsidian Lamina also quite underrated But the weapon and its ash of war are so elegant and beautiful it makes me to use Arcane builds And also... Freya's Great Curved Sword - probably one of the most hard hitting curved sword in class with a right affinity

Lamina is weirdly simple. No fancy bloodflame FX, no magic gimmicks, literally just a pure dex/arc physical scythe with a little bleed and a lot of style... But man, it feels satisfying. Freyja's seems to be made for that Savage Lion Claw the DLC just gives you as a welcome present.

I think the Dancing Blade of Ranah is also an excellent weapon, at first it looks weaker than the Bandit's Curved Swords but the Ranah armor boosts the ash of war and also thanks to being the lightest paired curved sword it works really well with the blue dancer charm. I'm not gonna lie the ash might have the highest raw melee dps I've seen in the game and it also gives you just enough movement to straife quite a lot of boss attacks.

Fun fact. The curseblade cirque ash also gets buffed by Ranah set. It's not as flexible as the Unending Dance ash, but it's still pretty ridiculous, especially since the curseblade can bleed.

How would you rate the curseblade cirque? Are they useable for an endgame weapon? Can i use the bloodflame on them?

Last I checked you can't buff the curseblade cirque with incants. But you know what you can do? Use the Dancer set to buff its ash of war. Backhand blade moveset being so stupid good plus innate bleed means it basically can't be bad if you commit to the build with something like Godskin/Rotten Winged Sword/Millicent.

the curse blade cirque imo is the worst of the back hand blades because its ash of war is locked, the reason back hand blades are even good is due to swift strike and blindspot

I put parry on the pata. It's cool looking. I haven't messed with it enough to get big damage out of it but I hope there's a good build for it. Can you put put parry on all fist weapons? I thought it was just daggars and shields. I just read the item description for pata where it says it's good for guarding them looked to see if parry could go on them and it worked

i think that u missed a weapon which imo deserves more builds and ppl using it and its the milady because if u go cragblade for example u can just destroy poise meters of bosses heard that impaling thrust also gives a similar effect and yes i intentionally avoided talking abt wing stance

Flame skewer is insane on it too. That being said wing stance is so good. The r1 combo directly into r2 does insane poise damage. You can usually get a break if you r2 again

I love the lizard GS but I'm bummed it can't use all the AoW that other GS can.

Doesn't need to. It's only locked out of "temporarily infuses the blade" type ashes, but it doesn't matter because the lizard GS already gets fantastic infusion scaling, a projectile for double strong hits and status buildup, and can use Carian Sovereignty. You aren't losing much.

The Lizard Greatsword has the highest damage in the class on keen affinity I beleave, it works really well with the new roar buff. (since it's not allowed to be used with most other buff ashes)

Which roar buff and which ash? And do the roars remove its ranged attack or just add a projectile to the replacement move...?

@@FelisImpurrator Braggart's Roar keeps the 1 handed heavy unchanged, Shriek of Sorrow (the new one) doesn't alter the heavies.

@@lharsay Ah, right. I feel like Shriek is still pretty hard to use though. You have to be nearly dead to get anything out of it, and that means finding a window to cast it and heal up before the next stiff breeze obliterates you. Hard to get that much spare time in a DLC boss, for one thing.

You don't get infinite hyper armor or anything. They reduced that in a very early patch. But you get a solid increase in hyper armor compared to not using a GS, still. Just don't try to tank giant single hits.
