The Andes Mountain case was really scary, the had to climb a mountain which was 15000 feet high without any gear, this in its self is incredibly difficult, combined with the harsh cold weather and the lack of gear, food and the thought of imminent death. This is basically a summary of why what happened was so incredible and inspiring to many people.

Actually Ethan, survival experts say that walking is a bad idea unless you know for sure where you're going and that you'll make it. This is because walking takes up way more energy so you can survive longer by just staying in place. Furthermore, the farther you walk away from the crash site the less likely you are to be found.

@@Marie11Noel I would agree but also…if there’s land surrounding you, I am 100% sure you could find wildlife to hunt or veggies to eat/consume. These people basically unnecessarily ate a lot of their friends, which btw is 100% dangerous. Cannibalism can and will eventually kill you, and not just humans, but also animals. Unless the animal is specifically adapted to be able to eat their own, humans aren’t. It’s linked to messing up your head, and also killing you. These people, if they found a farmer in 10 days, surely could’ve went about the situation better. What Ethan said was tasteless, but not really ignorant.

The people apparently stayed near the crash site as a big group so that they could get spotted together. But then I think they bonded with each other so tightly that they just gave up before they even began. There were quite a few survivors but some died of starvation because they refused to eat the remains of the other people. The two that journeyed off and found help went for a while before they actually found it… but imagine having to eat a family member.

Was the environment really cold and arid like the video thing showed? I imagine since they found a farmer not too far away, the environment was more suited for wildlife and vegetables/fruit. I would have rather attempted to find food there then eat my own, since cannibalism is incredibly destructive to the body.
@the_spiidey3 ай бұрын
@@PhysicallyAwake it was even worse tbh. the one shown on the video was from a 1993 film if im not wrong. but there's a new film called Society of the Snow which actually depicts the situation even better and in a much more raw way just like the original story, to the point it was made with the survivors and their families even, to get the most accurate showing possible. everybody should check it out

Like if -You always hear your name even when if it's not being called. -You hate hearing your voice in recordings. -You use the word "thingy" when you can't remember what something is called. -You pretend you're writing in class so the teacher won't call on you. -You say the entire alphabet because you can't remember what letter comes next. -You and your best friend can say one word and crack up. -You hate it when one of your hoodie strings is longer than the other. -You hate it when someone thinks you like someone when you clearly don't. -You hate it when your favorite song comes on as you pull in the driveway. -You feel like if you turn on the lights, you'll be safe from anything. -You push those little buttons on the lids of fast-food drinks.

A couple of them I've seen before, this was an amazing video! The rest I couldn't believe! The lighting one, the guy getting hit in the head, are the ones that I saw before. Very interesting indeed! That just goes to show that these events are something to look at and anything is possible! :)

In the snowy mountain one, the temperature was very low and as it was already stated, they had no food whatsoever. It takes a lot of energy to get walk off into a random direction and keep it going if it’s the wrong one, hoping you reach something. When the plane crashed and some were even thrown from the plane, a guy stood up and started walking but didn’t realize he went into the wrong direction from his friends in the distance. They explained that it was impossible to even see the plane bc it was white and was starting to be piled on by snow. They assumed they’d be rescued and hadn’t moved the first few days before realizing they need to find help. They couldn’t even read the map tho and they were stuck after many failed attempts to climb a mountain to get better directions, it was too cold to even reach the top for some time. They were rescued after 72 days.

for the nail-in-the-head guy, it’s actually more common than you’d think for people to be shot and not realize it- it’s usually from freak accidents like this, like being struck by a stray bullet and just think you got stung. it’s super weird but look it up!

I remember reading some where that a successful parachute landing [at with the WWII style chutes] was about the same as jumping down 2 metres... Or maybe it was 2 yards/6 feet. I'm not sure if it was in metric or imperial

The lightning guy got struck so much times because he had more electrical circulation after the first time so the lighting is attracted to him more than other people. He still had a little bit of electricity circulating his body meaning electricity is attracted to him
@shiftypenguin472 Жыл бұрын
The charge from lightning doesn't stay with you it's discharging into the ground. things that make lighting likely to strike something is its height, pointed shapes, and isolation.
