Sometimes in plain Yu-Gi-Oh, you want to gain just any amount of life points, in the most efficient way possible, in the quickest way possible, and all during your main phase 1. In this incredibly hypothetical situation that probably will never happen, what are some of the fastest ways to gain life points, without hampering your deck too much?

0:25 just reminder that her effect is "discard" and not "send to gy". So we can still activate this card even opponent has Macro Cosmos or DImensional Fissure. It's different from Maxx C which has effect "send to gy", we can't activate Maxx C if MC or DF is on the field

I would think that Dian Keto the Cure Master would have qualified for this list as a 1 card, no condition "gain 1000 LP". Especially since it doesn't require potential garnets like some of these entries.

I agree. But that makes the video too short don't you think? At the number 9 we have Dian Keto the Cure Master, this spell card gives 1k LP. Very simple card. And that's it

Poison of the Old Man would be better with 1200 LP on a quick effect, plus the option to do burn instead if you want.

If we are taking Duel Links into account, Life Stream Dragon is also decent. When you summon it, it raises your Life Points to 4000, essentially giving you a Max Potion since you start out with 4000 LP instead of 8000.

I love these kind of videos best. Comes across less about "If these cards can't beat Tears or aren't Tier 0, they're not worth ever playing" and more as "Here are alternative ways you can play cards that may not be meta relevant, but could lead to some interesting alternate strategies or "Flying Elephant" wins if you're clever enough. With so many cards in the game and so many possible strategies and starting hands, I think people would appreciate the game a lot more if they knew of ways to make the most of thier favorite archetype instead of being told what they should and shouldn't play because it's "not tier 0" or "it's too slow". It's kind of amazing how at higher levels, people underestimate spell/trap negates and end up plaing into a trap because they assume the opponent doesn't. but at really high brackets (in duel links at least), I see players throwing down cards just to make the opponent hesitate, JUST in case they didn't draw an MST or thier combo for a spell negate. Or they just play into it and boom, I steal thier monster or karma cut and the duel ends there. It forces people to be more creative and not just assume the video they watch where hte player draws the perfect hand will lead to a free win. Leading to really fun back and forth duels that could go either way.

In general I prefer whenever lesser known cards are discussed instead of DuelLogs' very biased opinion of "Everything that isn't currently Tier 0 or borderline Tier 0 like Tearlaments at its prime was (especially Tearlaments) sucks"

I think you forgot Juragedo. Special summon him from the hand on either you or your opponents battlephase. On summon you get 1000 LP and at any point you can tribute him to boost another of your monsters atk by 1000 for 2 turns.

As an occasional D/D/D enjoyer I need to ask about the Viceking combo: Is there any reason to actually summon Deus Ex Machina by this means besides having a beatstick and remove the summon lock? You activate contract > search viceking > special it by destroying said contract > destroy one card > overlay into machina. This means you have neither 2 materials nor a dark contract card (unless you have a 2nd copy in hand) to activate it's effect (which is quite strong) which seems to be kind of a waste to me but maybe I simply don't see the trick to keep it going outside of D/D/D. Some tip would be nice here.

As someone who has used Cyber Angels, Natasha was wild af ❤️ I loved pulling her out first and getting my other girls out. With the right set up I can get Natasha and Vrash out, inflict 1000+ damage, increase LP by 1500 and go wild attacking

They need to lower the power creep a LOT first. I kind of want LP gain to be a useful strategy. I've seen a few DL players actually survive an onslaught because they gained enough LP and that extra turn they bought was enough to turn the duel around for a win. Sometimes all you need is to buy a turn and I'd like to see more players be able to incorporate that into thier strategies. In Rush duel I see players throw in Blue/Red medicine and Dian Keto the Boogie master cause the power level of that game is low enough that having extra LP could give you time to survive an onslaught. but in Rush duel, monster destruction and battle negates seem to be the biggest name of the game.

There is no way to make it fun. You either make it insane and all duels just go to time, or it's not enough and not worth it, LP isnt something where there is a middle ground.

Konami should make a lingering effect card which says that: At quick effect speed without any once per turn restriction you can pay 7000 LP to activate a card effect that does not instantly win the duel from hand, deck, GY or banish zone disregarding its cost, but afterwards until the beginning of your next main phase every time you would gain LP you instead lose that amount of LP and cannot prevent battle damage. Would for the first time bring about decks that want to float 30k+ LP consistently.

It's like Basketball before the shot clock was introduced, players would get a point up and then just pass the ball around until time was called and act like the win's more important than the spirit of the game.... The easiest way to gain Life Points is indeed Red Resonator and the Ghost Sister because they do not require a suboptimal play, an engine in the (Extra) Deck or other specific cards (from an Archetype) to function. Soul Absorbtion will also gain the player a crazy amount of Life Points, given enough banished cards.

I think you're kinda cheating on this one. 4 of the cards on this list(3 of which are in the top five) don't actually have lp gaining effects. They just summon or mill cards that do. I think it would have made more sense if you put those cards on the list instead and explained how those cards were used by the cards you actually put on the list.

well, this is a monster list, couse the best card i think is Soul Absorption a continuous spell, that let you gain 500lp for each card that is banished, so you can easily gain 5000lp just by using pot of desire

Hehe I really wish more videos were like this and glad the people have spoken. a lot of us are kind of getting tired of the "If this card can't beat Tears, it's completely useless" as if the only way to play the game is to exclusively use Tier 0 decks and assume every player can choose the exact hand they will start off with. Tournament decks are built for consistency, but doesn't automatically mean a casual "high risk/high reward" deck won't turn the entire duel around like attacking into a well timed drowning mirror force. Can't assume the player will ALWAYS draw a spell/trap negate and wipe the board and if they can do that consistently, then frankly Konami needs to check the ban list better. Just really REALLY hate hearing "Traps are useless cause they're too slow" like every duel is supposed to end turn 1 or turn 2 like it's fun to just "not play the game at all".

Idea for a Counter Trap that’s basically a supercharged Cure Master: _Reactive Regeneration_ Counter Trap _You can Banish 1 other card from your hand, field or GY to activate this card from your hand, GY or Banishment. If your opponent summons a monster or activates a card or effect, You gain 1000 LP, and if you do, you can, after this effect resolves, either keep this card in your hand, send it to the GY or banish it._ So basically this card, on spell speed 3, can activate from almost anywhere on a hair trigger temper, heal you for a quick 1000 LP, and can then choose where it ends up after it’s effect resolves. Meaning that, as long as your opponent is summoning monsters and slinging effects, and you have enough cards to banish, you can just keep gaining and gaining LP.

@@ButFirstHeLitItOnFire If you have cards that care about Traps being activated, this can be spammed really easily to massively trigger those effects. The life point gain will be a nice bonus unless you're playing specifically aroma.
