Great video as always. Truth is the system is not fair. I'm glad I got mine during the first interview, but there are loads of genuine students that get rejected because of the unfairness of the system, but more often than not, they get it on the second or third attempt (Your case is a good example). Also, getting some sort of funding can be a really positive thing, and doing the whole thing yourself is important because you need to know everything you claimed about yourself in your DS-160. Also, knowing your institution, and again people go there with a really unranked university, and you leave them wondering why you'd be spending millions getting a subpar education. I actually agree with the fact that the process is unfair. True many applicants are soo underprepared, but when you invite someone for an interview and you ask him just 2 questions and one of them is not a process question, then its hard to say that you made the right judgement call on the basis of the answer to one question. Having said that, the interview process is very intimidating and it will take a fair deal of confidence to get it right especially the first time. Aladi, mentioned one point in an earlier video about doing mock interviews. I'd say that is a very extremely useful tool and I highly recommend it for applicants. Keep up the good work!

Hi Aladi, please I need your advice or help. I applied for a Masters's Degree in the US, got both admission and a scholarship. Fast forward, I went for my visa interview with all required necessary documents( including both my admission and scholarship letter) last week only for the consular to denied my visa for further processing because my graduate school failed to indicate on my admission letter that I was given a scholarship. Hi Aladi, thanks for the video. Please in regards to the POF is it a nice thing to say that your sponsor already deposited the money in your own personal account. I mean like going with a personal funds written on the I-20 with your personal bank account but when asked, can you say your sponsor has been depositing the money in your account. Hi! I was hired as a pre-school teacher in Northern Mariana Islands and my working permit has been approved by the USCIS however, I got denied at the embassy when I applied for a visa last week. My denial is under 214B according to the paper that they gave me. I actually don’t know what went wrong since I only answered 2 personal questions from the consul and he already made his decision of denying my application. The answer to why this university is killing people honestly. Why even talk about curriculum and xxx is a best school that's why I want to study there. I will advise those having an upcoming interview not to read Visa experience of indians as their case is different. Talk about the research you plan doing and stop this curriculum and small class size thing. Prayers do work too, and there's no need to panic because they're humans just like us. If you can't overcome this pressure how can you even do a presentation in front of a full class.

On the day of my son's interview,the woman took his I-20 sheet and asked " how many schools did you apply "? He answered and then she asked "why did you choose the school you chose"? he again answered rightly, then she finally she asked " who is sponsoring you"? then he said it's his granny. Please supposing you applied for dv and choose high school since that's the current certificate you have, but you are at level 300 at the university. Supposing you win and decided to go to school on arrival at USA, do you have to start all over again or what can you do for them to know you were doing some course before you came .

No, community colleges are kinda like the Nigerian polytechnics, they offer 2 year courses and award associate degrees. After completing a course for 2 years, you could switch to a University for your Bsc. Ps: Community colleges are a lot cheaper.

You can’t apply for a Student Visa in the USA. You have to do that outside USA, preferably your Home Country.

Do not panic, I have heard/seen people who did not take any test and still got their visa. Though for Masters, don’t know about Bachelor’s degree. Just package yourself properly! If they ask for any score, tell them it wasn’t a requirement for your school to give you admission because if it was, I’m guessing you won’t even be admitted in the first place. Best wishes.

@@AladiAkoh on my I-20,the school wrote my cousin name has my sponsor instead of my aunty name but they brought another I-20 but before it could get to me,the day for my appointed was already fixed..so I could not get the second one before I went to the embassy, but the school told me that they mailed the second I-20 to the embassy...so I guess the I-20 actually failed me.
