Sir, i have to confess that your reviews of this bike, made me bought one, instead of a Moto Guzzi Norge. I am a french rather large guy, my girl friend is a former judo champion, you get the point. Plenty of room available, compared to the Italian beauty. Mine is a 2007 type, i paid it 5000 euros, excellent body condition, 85000 kms. Need a change of the clutch, before travelling to Italy this August. Your review is made with the heart, and is so useful. Kuddos from Normandy!

Thanks for your great comment, enjoy your next travel, stay safe and RT is the best, it gives you almost everything for a fair price;)

You made a great decision. Change oil every 8000 km and put in a Liqui Moly 1580 Motorbike Oil Additive - 125 ml.

Did you change that clutch yet? I watched a few videos on older RTs and the clutch is such a slog or very expensive at a dealer....doable, but HF...

Excellent review! I'm a 75 year old man in California, USA and still riding, but I'm weaker than I used to be, so I'm thinking of selling my 2011 Harley FLHTK and buying a lighter weight mc. No person is without some kind of issue, and some people criticize things that do not matter. Stay safe, be kind, and enjoy life!

I have seen too many riders same age as you riding on R1200Rt. I think it is a great choice, no so heavy and handles absolutely perfect.

I just got a 2010-my first bike. It's not a screamer and it's not super attractive. It is powerful, reliable, comfortable and easy to ride( once you get moving). It handles and corners like a dream! A great tourer or rural commuter.

I bought a used 2015 r1200RT in 2016 for about 17K US dollars. The best bike I've ever owned. The two problems I've encountered, thus far: It tends to go thru headlight bulbs about every year, and also has a leaking fork seal. I will have my dealer replace the forks seals. I do my own oil changes and valve adjustments (very easy and only takes about an hour). Changing the air filter is a real PITA, but this is true of several other bikes I've owned. I plan to buy the next generation RT when the 1300 cc motor comes out on the late '24 model (or possibly early '25). GLTA Beemer riders !

I bought a 2009 RT a few months ago for two-up touring, and have found it so nice to ride that I use it for practically everything. Great review, and I share your enthusiasm. The most important modification I have made is to add AF-Xied O2 sensor manipulators that have radically improved fueling across the board. I couldn't recommend them more highly.

I have the 2007 version with factory colour matched saddlebags. I bought the top case from Givi because it is half the price of the OEM, which only comes in silver, and for $100 i had it painted to colour match. The bike looks great. I agree this is an awesome bike, and probably the last one I will ever own.

Great video! I'm curious if you could share your thoughts on the difference between your 1998 1100RT vs your 1200RT. I have a 2000 1100RT (that I LOVE) but thinking of upgrading to the same 1200RT. Thanks!

Max, how do you compare the '98 to '06? I'm currently looking at an '96 and a '08.
@MaxReviewss17 күн бұрын
There is a huge difference. 06 has better handling, better acceleration, smoother engine and updated features. The only con would be the servo brakes on 06.

Would you consider a 2006 with 110K km a reliable highway commuter assuming regular maintenance?
@MaxReviewss6 ай бұрын
Only issue might be the servo, they are not reliable and I do not recommend a removed ABS at all.

Mine qustions is it reliable and expansive to maintain i look at a fjr 1300 07 or a rt1200
@MaxReviewss Жыл бұрын
Never had a FJR but I had a VFR and know that Japanese reliability. I would say R1200RT is in a different league and life style, would not disappoint in terms of Engine or transmission but you might get a fuel leak or an electrical issue every few years, but that would be it, RT would be probably easier and lighter and less sporty than the FJR.
@alenfora1400 Жыл бұрын
Rt1150 or maybe the 1200 the same if i can get a gs
@TheDucpilot Жыл бұрын
Hi, I own a 2005 RT in the nice red colour and often ride with my mate who has a 2007 FJR. He is very quick on the straights but in the first corner I already pass him on the inside. In terms of power the FJR is sportier, but in the terms of handling it really is the Beemer
