Good calls on Thompson, Lanois and Wishbone Ash especially. Love Gene Clark, but don't see that happening.

You touched on all the artists I would've mentioned. There are some pretty egregious snubs in there like K.C., Jethro, Lizzy, The Jam and The Smiths.

I wholeheartedly agree about Warren Zevon!! Someone that I think should be in there is David Lindley. Unfortunately, it would be a posthumous induction as he passed away last year.

The Searchers, Johnny Maestro (first leading the groundbreaking integrated group The Crests and then the even more profound Brooklyn Bridge - maybe the best voice ever), The Monkees.

Agree with Crimson and Tull. Ween needs to be in there. 10cc, Procol Harum, Roy Wood (solo artist)/Move, and ELP also come to mind.

Loved your list, especially the #1 King Crimson and #2 Jethro Tull bands. I was shocked to hear that Thin Lizzy wasn't there either and some of honorable mentions. But you nailed it, and the current list is not that great as compared to your snubs list.

Thanks! It is baffling that some of these aren't in.

Okay, here's my list of artists you didn't mention that should be in the R&R Hall of Fame. Certainly more worthy than Whitney Houston (I love her rock songs...lol) Dolly Parton or (Dear Lord) Mariah Carey????? #1 The Monkees (Okay you mentioned them, but what other artist outsold the Beatles?) #2 Blue Oyster Cult (Don't Fear the Reaper, alone should get them in, but they have 20 or so albums!) #3 Styx (Eric Carmen singing Come Sail Away as fast as possible? Gold) #4 Supertramp (Fool's Overture and the entire Breakfast in America album) #5 10cc (Their sense of humor and the HOW DARE YOU album. I'm Not in Love) #6 Bachman Turner Overdrive #7 Kansas #8 Bjork (Certainly more worthy than the ladies mentioned in the opening of this comment) #9,#9, #9 (get it?) Grand Funk Railroad (Talk about influential) and #10 Three Dog Night (No they weren't songwriters, but everything they touched turned to gold) Those are my picks in addition to many you mentioned.

Great list! I agree with them all except maybe your #10. Good band, but not sure I agree they are Hallworthy.

I guess you can’t even give a mention of Ted Nugent!!

Well first of all , the name must be changed. It is NOT the rock and roll hall of fame, but music hall of fame - meaning all genres. I'd guess that half of those hof artists are not rock and roll at all. By that definition, this shrine is a joke. Boston, Kansas, Bad Company, Styx are not in. Really? If that's not classic rock and roll then I don't know what is. Jethro Tull, whether you like them or not, is in my opinion the biggest snub. Hell, Tull should be in for the Aqualung album alone. So many classic albums " Thick as a Brick", "Songs From the Wood", "Heavy Horses" are some of the best classic and progressive rock albums of all time. Cleary, the hof committee dislikes Ian Anderson, (probably because he is outspoken and his lyrics might be complex or controversial). I'm not sure what the reasons are, probably political. Anyway, this is one hall of fame (shame) that I have no interest in.
