I just really hope that they go the Ring Racer route, which would be that it closes down shortly after it's grand opening and then goes sbno forever, instead of the "Maintaining this thing turns out to be one big pain in the ass so we just don't until someone dies" route, which we have already seen on some way smaller rides than this.... But there is probably nothing to worry about since for this to happen, the ride would have to open to the public in the first place

Even though the launch on Lightning Rod was ultimately a failure, I find it impressive that Dollywood managed to operate it successfully for as long as they did. Now, with the new high-speed chain lift, Lightning Rod should be more reliable than ever. While I’ll miss the unique launch, I respect Dollywood and RMC for trying such an innovative concept. It was truly one of a kind.

I’m more shocked that a pack of 2 pizzas is $99 lmfao. Side note, intimidator 365 is one of my favorite rides of all time!! I rode the OG, never blacked out luckily but my ex boyfriend did 😂 we rode it 4 times in a row because no one was riding it!

@@iloveappleyoutube7198 Disneyland Paris dont make me laugh , its a good park , but i hate the park for space mountain , i have been there 4 times orso in the past first time it was under construction i thought okay cool , so went with family 4 years later , down maintaince , then in 2004 , suddenly ride down under construction for new design etc blabla , then 2015 when i went also down , when i last went in 2023 , also under construction so i just was like screw it it sucks if u need to refurbish a ride that any fn times then u shoulod just close it

From a design and engineering perspective, I find this project genuinely fascinating. While I don’t condone the actions of the entities funding it (their human rights record is extremely alarming), I also recognize its significance for future innovation. Saudi Arabia, with its vast financial resources and minimal environmental or building regulations, has become a playground for the world’s most ambitious projects-sometimes for better, sometimes for worse. For example, projects like The Line have been significantly scaled down. Similarly, while the roller coaster has been constructed, it hasn’t yet operated, and other aspects of the Qiddiya project, such as the racecourse, are experiencing delays. The major issue with these Saudi initiatives is that they often overpromise and underdeliver.

I feel like top thrill 2 suffered from being a prototype since Zamperla never did any mega project like this before. It is its first of its kind. Hopefully Zamperla will get the ride running more smooth next season.

Worst part is actually the excessive hangtime. I once rode seqoia adventure twice in a row because it didnt have a line. Terrible mistake. My head felt like it was about to explode on the last inversion

One of my ideas was to make a coaster based on the movie Speed. "It's not finished" as you barrel towards the track with a 50 foot gap in it. Of course that isn't the real track. The real track has a sudden airtime point where the "gap" starts and a hard landing where it ends. Of course that would still be a pain in the ass maintenance wise, so it will never happen.

Funnily enough, one of the Whoa coasters in Thrillville: Off The Rails is a toboggan style coaster with actual cannons that have vehicles jump the track. So perhaps, the cannon coaster's legacy lived on indirectly.

Funny you mentioned Kuwait because when I was little there, I was in a car in a highway and on the left side of the car I saw what appears to be an Ultra Twister model on the edge of the highway. I didn’t know what or how it got there but this was the first and only time I saw one of these models in real life as a toddler. Love your vids Christian!

Not a fan of gray outs on coasters either, which is one reason that I do not like I305. I would definitely have hated the original version if it made you black out. I'm also not a Maverick fan. I know a lot of people like these two coasters, but they're just not my favorites. Give me Fury 325 and Cooperhead Strike over them any day! 😄

That Cannon coaster was certainly ambitious. And now, the Donkey Kong coaster at universal will appear to “jump” the track too, through the actual rails on the side holding the cars and a false regular track on the bottom.

Top Thrill reminds me of Top Gun roller coaster before Carowinds was bought out. I'm not a thrill seeker but I went once with a friend because I promised and, despite hating heights, I did enjoy it. I will not do it again. That drop was wiiiiilllddddddd (nice view though, you felt almost weightless at some points)

The Cannon Coaster sounds like a really early version of what the soon-to-be Mine Madness coaster at Donkey Kong Land at Epic Universe is gonna be. Sure you're not actually jumping the tracks but the illusion is there.

Griffon at Bursh Gardens Williamsburg and SheiKra at Bursh Gardens Tampa are sometimes ones where that happens to me too. But I haven’t been to Kings Dominion since they had Volcano the Blast Coaster and Hypersonic. I loved Volcano, but Hypersonic, along with Looping Star in Ocean City, MD, are my top two worst favorites. Besides the launch (which I loved) Hypersonic gave me a headache all three times I ever went on it. As for Looping Star, the only time I’ve ever been on it as an adult, it gave me a minor neck injury that wouldn’t resolve until the next day. Intimidator is definitely on my roller coaster bucket list though.

Sky Plaza Comet did operate until 2005 at Kuwait and stood SBNO even after a 2015 repaint, and imagine CGI reviving Flip Flap Railway and Crystal Beach Cyclone but more safer

I just happened to get to ride Top Thrill 2 during its brief opening and really hope it reopens smoothly. I think it makes sense for them to take their time given the incident that closed the original down. They also might feel like the opening hype was ruined by the extended closure so they want to just start fresh with a new season (they tend to open rides at the start of the year save a few exceptions). Anyway it felt like a really cool update to the ride. Now tell them to put the roll back on Maverick and maybe CP and Intamin can kiss and make up again.

I guess I have a different idea of what “intense” means. I don’t want to hurt my back or almost black out on a ride. Intense to me means a ride like El Toro; which feels like it is trying its best to hurl you out of your seat while not making you feel like you just visited the chiropractor.

The Canon Coaster strikes me as a good idea if you can figure out how to fake it. (IE, there really is a track but the riders can't see it so it *feels* like you're suddenly flying between two track segments.)

I'm not one to blame TT2 on zamperla. Cedar point is at blame as they rush projects. If they gave zamperla more time to work out the kinks and test more so they knew the problem first hand. Maybe TT2 would have a more happier opening

I have a theory that had Top Thrill 2 didn't have problems, Kingda Ka at Great Adventure would have never closed. But it did happen, and it may be the worst and dumbest decision to come out of the Six Flags/ Cedar Fair merger and it will probably come back to haunt them.

I305 did NOT go too far… the GP just didn’t know how to handle it. Yes it’s fast and packs the G’s on first drop and turn but after that your fine lol. There’s a lot of factors that go into people blacking out! Blood pressure, low blood sugar, not enough hydration, not enough on stomach etc!
