Zombie Paradise honestly looks pretty fun, it's like a more adult-rated version of the Haunted Mansion. I think the weird Micky dentist scene isn't actually based on anything and was probably created for a different attraction all together before getting thrown into the Mecki ride to preserve it. The same probably applies to the random dioramas too.

One fun detail about "Tren del Terror" is that one of its entrance is located inside a near subway station, so just imagine getting in to ride a subway or just leaving the station and seeing a creepy medieval castle like entrance with a illuminated red letters spelling Train of Terror in Spanish. Also the cantina's name is possibly they didn't bother to check the place's actual name, this was museum is quite of a fountain of memes in Spain for it's quite poor quality Edit: I'm in Madrid and I decided to visit the museum and ride the train and I'd like to share some details of it, So i'm quite convinced that this ride must have been a more traditional haunted house dark ride because the entire queue is set in a dungeon with several people being tortured or executed and a giant demonic face sculpted in the walls. Then you arrive to the preshow (00:57) where a monk tells you that you must ride the train and face the terrors that await to save him from damnation (he has quite several sins behind his back) since he can't for being too old, another monk tries to dissuade you to keep going but of course you keep going. The boarding station has some additional animatronics too like some skeletons sitting in some benches or Frankenstein's monster tied to a chair. Then the ride begins, and I've noticed some small details that are not mentioned in the video, since unless you ride it it's very difficult to find these things. For example the spaceship section, the one with the xenomorph and the thing has, for some reason, a, quite hidden figure of Snoopy dressed as an astronaut, that definitely doesn't match the sci-fi horror tone of the scene. Also the ice cave where pennywise is there's also some corpses, and tombs and a yeti and a sabertooth tiger hidden in the shadows, Pennywise is the most recent addition to the ride, which existed before the IT movies, so I guess the yeti was at first the main figure before getting moved. Finally the exit is also star wars themed since it is the last scene in the ride I guess, they tried to keep the horror theme by only putting villains from the franchise there but since the epic star wars theme is also playing in the background the effect gets lost, there's also a normal looking wolf in there too since the exit looks like a forest. Additionally the museum does have a horror section that works as a Haunted House walkthrough that is definitely scarier than this dark ride.

German here. I am not sure about that Mickey dentist thing...but i know Mecki as a bunch of kids films from the 80s, stop motion if I remember correctly, about a hedgehog family and their daily life. He started as a comic figure and mascot of a paper called "Hörzu" (listen up) in the 50s. He had audiobooks too in the 70s. I don't know much about it as I was born in the 90s so it's not quite my time, my parents maybe could know more about it though...

My Oma had a Mecki book that I have kept all these years later. I’ve never been able to read it myself sadly, as I am not fluent enough in German to read a book, but there is always a childlike sense of awe I get when I open the book and look at the illustrations. They’re so well done and detailed on every page, I’m honestly thrilled to know anything about this joyful little hedgehog.
@kurtwagner46633 ай бұрын
@@blackwolfpawsunderstandable. German can be though to learn sometimes. We some quirks in our language like articles. We have a male, female and neutral article. In English it's just "the" and German its "der, die, das" and there is no real rule to that...we just know what is female or male or neutral. A tree for example is male. Der Baum. Why? Because the dictionary says so! 😂

Hey, thanks for the shout-out! I'm really curious about the Mickey dentist thing, too. Based on the date, this was very early in his career. Mickey was pretty much an instant star, but Disney was not the merchandise machine it would become, so a lot of Mickey merch you see, especially foreign merch was most likely bootlegged. I'm also wondering who the duck and wolf are. Donald Duck was introduced in 1934 and the (Disney) Big Bad Wolf in 1933, so they might be some other European characters.

I think the Muppets' ride could've worked better if they'd used the characters from Sesame Street rather than the ones from The Muppet Show. After all, why would you entrust child's safety lessons on a bunch of characters who get thrown off of moving busses, or stand in close range of an exploding bomb? Or get eaten alive in some cases! Also, that Zombies of the Night song would make a great addition for a Halloween song playlist!

I also remember going on this in the Omaha metro area, but my brother/sister and mom don't remember it. My siblings would have been 3-4, and my mom worked nights so we'd most likely have gone with my dad (who passed a few years ago). I was pretty sure I had dreamed up that ride whole cloth before I watched this video. The only thing different in my memories was that I thought the Muppets moved more realistically, like they were puppeted by real people. I will assume that was a child's overactive imagination though.

Never been here before but I just had to mention that when I was 8 and visiting family in Singapore, we were taken to a theme park featuring a ride depicting the 10 levels of hell that were actually pretty gruesome. Especially being that I was so young but there were scenes of sinners being boiled alive, sinners being smooshed in between 2 rotating cement circles that would grind and screw together slowly, people being hung upside down and slowly lowered into fire pits and pots of boiling oil and lava. Oh man there was so much more and my older siblings thought enough to take some pictures at the time but no idea where they went to now. I’d LOVE to see this again just to look back at how extreme they wanted kids to think of “hell” in order to keep them in line. No, this wasn’t any religious based park either. That’s why it stuck out to us Americans there that day. Oh man I wanna find some pics of this ride again. Mind u i costed here over 30 yrs ago so my memory of it is probably blurry but wow. Very unique and creepy for small kids! So it’s an actual Hell Theme Park. Just googled it lmao.

It’s not so much about Chinese mythology in general, but an examination of Chinese “hell”. Some parts are quite accurate, some parts are as if they’re from the Haunted Mansion or Pirates of the Caribbean, this is why it comes off as so bizarre.

Mecki! I have a book that is Mecki going to a land of.. candy? With little dwarf looking friends. I used to sit and look at the very detailed pages, as each page was FILLED from edge to edge with art. There was always something new that I had missed previously. Its honestly a really well illustrated book, and I hope to one day be able to read it in german, and figure out the true story behind Mecki visiting the strange land. As expected the book is fully in German, and I do know there is at least one other Mecki book of the same type also released. Hedgehogs are very common and beloved in Germany, or so my Oma would have me believe from her assorted hedgehog depictions I would find around my grandparents house, so I would imagine with the figures you found, that Mecki was most likely a “Mickey Mouse” of Germany at the time. I never expected that they had made a ride, or that Mecki had figures made of him! He always looked like a very jolly little guy in the book.

Mecki used to be a mascot for the german magazine Hörzu (literally Listen) which is for TV programs. There were movies and comics to my knowledge. In the ninties, Mecki received a new cartoon adaption. The setting made it look like southern german. Mostly like a rural region in Bavaria. While I am German, Mecki isn't a character I've seen or heard much about, but he's still known by the older generation and still mentioned on occasion. More related to the presented rides, I remember having seen Zombie Paradise a few years ago. Back when I watched a lot of dark ride videos, the algorythm once presented me Sally Corporation's channel and I saw some very interesting videos.

Hey, I was late with commenting on the water rides video last week! I actually went into that Duinrell "waterpipe". I wrote that I can still remember the true feeling of "wth" when saw it. But when seeing how long the pipe actually was, it was far less intimidating. I rode it, and honestly, it isn't something you'll remember. If you've your eyes closed, you'll just experience something close to an elevator ride. You'll just be transported. There is no thrill or even much of anxiety. You dive and about 10 seconds later, you come back up another small pool. I do remember how I fear the funnel slide next to it way more, because of the chance that somebody might fall onto you after you fall into the water. Also, I don't remember any line or instructors with the water pipe. It was just me.
