I remember when I was a teen, me and a friend were walking around in some woods near where we lived in Monroe, MI that most people in the area called twin bridges. Suddenly, we got the feeling that something was chasing after us, we felt pretty scared, so we ran towards one of the bridges that went over the creek. Once we finally got out of the woods and onto the bridge, we could have sworn we heard someone yelling "Damn it!" as if whatever it was that was chasing us couldn't chase us over the water. According to some stories, demons can't cross running water, so we figured it was some sort of demon.

I know. Like I said, I was a teen, I am now 42, so that was nearly 30 years ago. Thanks to Hollywood at the time, I believed that evil spirits couldn't cross running water, that is why we ran for the bridge. For all I know, there could have actually been some weirdo chasing us, or maybe that yell we heard could have been completely unrelated to what we felt was happening. Either way, it was pretty scary. Didn't scare us too much though, because we went back there multiple times.

SMS Weekly Of course it does, it's hard to see at night. Anything could be waiting in the distance or watching behind the 3rd tree. Fear is what kept us alive for so long before fire among other things. We don't like dark forest for the same reasons a bunny doesn't stray far from its burrow, it's dangerous. While we've surely overcome a lot of, there's still more to seize. Some people may think fear is ridiculous, nevertheless, it's interesting to see instinct from far lands ago continue to stand against time.

I still remember two stories. 1st: When time I tried to sleep in my tent. Then I woke up to hearing large footsteps and heavy breathing. I soon got a feeling that something was outside waiting for me to leave the tent. This happened for around 10 minutes then it quickly stopped l. 2nd: At another camp there was a sudden storm in the middle of the night. So sudden that no one knew it would happen. All I could hear was thunder and the wind, the weirdest thing was that morning their was no proof of a storm ever happening.

I have a story. Top this I was around 12 years old, I was full of anxiety and gender dysphoria so I thought I should run away, I tried to, by going into the park about 4 blocks away from me, which has a huge forest. I had a really high powered flashlight, and I was walking through the forest (it was around 3 am) and I saw an old lady, who was sitting on the floor on one of the tracks. I was a few hundred feet away , so I yelled “are you okay?” And she turned around and she had BLACK eyes And her mouth was wide open she had no teeth, the got up and started running at me, I (being young and pretty full of energy) ran as fast as possible and ran into the park bathrooms. I locked one of the stalls and stayed quiet until I heard a voice from the other side of the room say “hiding won’t help you” and I unlocked the door and ran out and for a Quick moment I saw that old lady standing there next to the door. I ran home and hid in my room until it was 12 pm. My parents don’t know about it tho. (My therapist does but he doesn’t care lol)

I have a scary woods story There's a forest in my cricket ground and we always thought it was creepy and once wells playing cricket and my mate hit the ball all the way to the forest he went to grab it and heard someone whisper his name he ran back too us and we all walked in together in there we found a rust dagger a pair of shoes and a bottle of drink that they don't sell at the bar. We just carried on playing cricket when we saw a flashlight light coming out of there. To this day none of us know what's in there

I did for about 10 years. It was actually quite nice. You could take walks through the forrest, around the lake or to a playground under the trees. However I never went there after dark and just about at about 30 min walking distance there was another lake called Teufelsee, Devils lake in german. There area around it always felt a bit eery.

I remember when I was around maybe 8 years old me and my friend who was 10 were walking not in the woods but right next to it and we saw a man walking towards us and he stopped, blocking our way and asked us what our names were and if we wanted to get into his car. We were kinda confused and didn't answer him but tried to get around him and he blocked us again. Before he could say anything my brother and like 5 of his friends came running and screaming out of the woods and the man ran away. My brother just saw a strange man and reacted and his friends followed. Thank god for my brother.

One time, a group of 3 friends and I were walking in the woods behind my house a few years ago. We had been out there for a good hour, just walking deeper and deeper into the woods. We were laughing and joking as we walked, but one of my friends pointed something out in front of us and we got completely quiet. There were a bunch of plants that looked suspiciously like marijuana. As we got closer, we could smell it clearly, it was weed. We conversated about who it could be. No one lived near these woods except me, so it couldn't have been anyone I knew. We walked around the area, together. We paused and stopped walking for a moment when we thought we heard a twig snap from not too far away. My blood had ran cold when a man yelled, in a very deep voice, "HEY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?". We heard footsteps approaching us quickly and we ran in the opposite direction. We ran until we were completely worn out, the man hadn't followed us. My friends and I have never forgotten that day

I live in the woods. The wildlife are more of a threat than anything supernatural. I've had close calls with bears quite a few times and have been extremely lucky to be alive. There are mountain lions and aggressive packs of coyotes as well. If I run into anything in the woods, I would rather it be something supernatural than anything else. I fear the animals and strange people more than anything.

So all I could do was sit with my back to a tree till I was found. I swear I saw things or a thing jumping back and forward above me I still dream about it every once in a while exempt in my dream I could see a man like form with no face and I only said up after it jumps on me.
