The Awesome Emerald Potato Not all jumpscares. Some of them dont jump in your face (the cheap jumpscares do that) and some jumpscares actually give people nightmares. Thats more than 5 minutes haha. The area looks like a stereotypical comedic spooky place at first but looking at things like the talking nooses that want you to use them, and the backstory from the time rift give the area such a sad undertone to it as well when you realize its past.

I know this video is five years old, but I did want to bring up something I found in a different countdown video that really justifies why Bottom of the Well is on here over Shadow Temple (and possibly over Ikana Canyon, although I don't remember the buildup to that so I'm less sure). When you see the name "Shadow Temple" on your screen, you know that it's probably going to be scary/creepy/unsettling; this makes you emotionally prepared, which in turn makes it less scary. And if you learned that Ikana Canyon was a cursed/haunted location before you go there (again, I don't remember), then you're going into that one prepared too. The well, though? Comes out of nowhere.

I personally think the boss with green blood is a 'keeper of the grave', keeping those who came back alive inside the well. the stains on it is the blood of the undead who died again, or adventurers (like the player) that didn't survive. it is a guardian to keep the dead in, and the alive out. the twitching is mostly it just faking, and giving you the joy of winning. it may just come for you again if you don't watch out. it is mostly a theory on my part, but i'd digress.

Ok, you forgot two great things about the True Lab. First of all, the music is totally fucking sick, just like the rest of the OST. Second of all, you might of already made that little passing glance at it, but I cannot stress enough how much that Snowy battle fucked me up. From her depressing backstory to the fucked up, arrhythmic music, Snowdrake’s Mom practically gave me PTSD. That and the creepy Determination Extractor just terrified the living shit out of me, and I’m not sure I ever wanna go back there again. I had that exact feeling of “just get me the fuck out of here already” you were talking about in #1 for the entire time I was in that damn place. (But anyways, if I had my way the entire second act of Doki Doki Literature Club would be on here too, but that’s just my opinion. I loved the video!)

For some reason that failed tramway was always the eeriest part of Deepnest. Something about the silent vastness of the tunnels, the implied tragedy that took place here, the crashed trams with their darkened windows from which probably stare the dead eyes of bug carcasses. It's similarity to real life disaster scenes just adds to the uncanniness.

Doom 64 has some really terrifying and cryptic levels though. like no joke, some levels in Hell actually scare me and I'm mostly talking about Level 12: Altar of Pain and Level 20: Breakdown. this is probably the scariest game I've played so far but it isn't saying much since I haven't gotten into scary games in general, other popular Nintendo games, Silent Hill, Bioshock, etc. I just started getting into playing the most well-known franchises starting with Metal Gear and Splinter Cell.

Medical Pavillion is Bioshock is indeed a good choice, put I personally thought that Fort Frolic was creepier. Like Medic Pavillion there are two specific areas dedicated to scaring the player (the "basement" and the Upgrade Station with that freakin' chair Splicer), and while Fort Frolic is less creepy in appearance with all the neon, fancy buildings compared to Medical, the statues Cohen has made and Cohen's constant presence and insanity make it creepier. Steinman was only present through audio logs and at the end of Medical. Just a personal opinion.
