I feel so behind! I haven't read any of these and only heard of two. I'm gonna be trying to pick up a few soon!

I have a number Weber's novels and he, alone, is an excellent writer. I'd recommend his books to anyone. I didn't know about this one. I will have put it on my list as right now I'm busy with other reads. Thank you.

Fun video. What tense and perspective is The Tainted Cup written in? I tried reading House of Stairs (or something close to that) by the same author and I hated how he styled it.

Ace, thanks for this. My husband has Faebound on the shelf but I assumed it would be a mid romance. Will pick it up 👀

It's definitely still fantasy romance but I was surprised how invested I got

Empire of the Wolf trilogy is the best series I've ever read besides Eisenhorn (Dan Abnett). Service Model is the best standalone Adrian Tchaikovsky has ever written IMHO. 👨🚀👾🛸

Wow, I'm falling behind. I finished "The Haunted" and "Nana" and downloaded "Craft." "The Haunted" was okay - I enjoyed it. "Nana" was more interesting to me (excellent narration for the audiobook, btw) and a little more original. All of these are your recommendations, of course. And now I need to try some of these science fiction books. Thanks for making these videos. 🚀🚀

Wow, we've been reading entirely different books in 2024, I confess I haven't read anything on your science fiction list. My own SF favorites so far this year include: Blade, by Linda Nagata Cascade Failure, by L.M. Sagas The Tusks of Extinction, by Ray Nayler Beyond the Light Horizon, by Ken MacLeod Those Beyond The Wall, by Micaiah Johnson Thanks for the good reviews, and keep on reading!

I just received my library copy of Womb City, I'm excited to finally read it! I also read "To Challenge Heaven" earlier this year, and I really enjoyed it. Personally I preferred book 2, but books 2 and 3 are both great.

Excellent list! I also love horror elements thrown into sci fi or fantasy books, especially when I am not expecting it, it’s always a welcome surprise. I feel like Disquiet Gods was a fabulous entry in the series and has everything completely set up to happen in the last book. I love that we have known the ending since the first page of book one, but we also don’t know what happened. I just picked up Womb City, it sounds awesome.
