I used to get psyched for when Dallas was on. This was even before VCRs. You had to run to the bathroom while the commercials were on. I’ve recently rewatched Dallas, and I watched all the seasons, but I think when Victoria Principal left is when the show lost it’s magic. The way Miss Ellie used to say “Paaam”. Sigh. Once Pam was gone? Once the “Dream Season” had ended? Dallas lost its magic. But I still love it. JR Ewing is my all time favorite person to love/hate. 🤣

The Summer between the "Who Shot J.R." finale ep and the resolution in the Fall was crazy as I remember it, with contests, odds makers speculating, T-shirts, songs on the radio, etc., and exacerbated even more if memory serves because the start of the season was delayed by a strike of either writers or actors. I'm curious as to the numbers the show did during the Summer repeats leading to the new Season - I bet they were as good, if not better than the original airing!?

Yes , I was in middle school and the teachers were talking about it, it was all over magazines. It was like JR Ewing was a real life person NOT a character on TV.

Conundrum should have had a better ending and 2 cliffhangers. 1. Has Bobby found Pam alive? 2. The final freeze frame of the series, JR discovers Digger is his Daddy, not Jock - Cliff is JRs half brother.
