You hit the nail on the head with your list of 10 tips--thanks so much! The most important to me was quality thread and issues with black thread; I'll avoid black in the future. I haven't changed the serger knife yet and I probably should. I'll be getting it out shortly. I have a Husqvarna Viking 200S Serger. It meets my needs for the serger work I do.

I have the L890 and am trying to sell my L850. I use my serger a lot cause I make children's garments. I bought a Brother cover stitch for hems. I didn't like it. When I would do a hem on a skirt it was extremely difficulty pulling the fabric and thread out from under the pressure foot. I used the method they recommended but the lower looper was extremely frustrating so I purchased the Bernette 42. So far so good. I know I can convert the L890 to a cover stitch but still need to learn how to do that.
