Oh, you missed the best part about the Snowgrave route. The game implies that Kris is just as manipulated as Noelle is and you, the player, are the one manipulating them
@arandomthingintheabyss2062

ya that kind of the point of deltarune when you think about it instead of being a game about how the creatures in the world react to the player it how the player character reacts to the player and seeing if there really ok with what there doing because it impossible to tell if kris is enjoying what the players doing or not because they rip the player out multiple times but they make a new nightmare fountain to have more adventure so ya compare to frisk there a painting with all the color instead of a blank one

Well the player doing this in all the cases not only on that rout . And that why you see kris acting weird when you choose something they don't like .

I also feel like there is another disturbing element of deltarune chapter two is the secret boss spamton. Spamton is a clearly unhinged and seems broken and desperate in his first fight he seems funny, but you can see the cracks form on how corrupted spamton is but this amps up in the spamton neo fight and his shop where he seems outright terrifying and creepy due to it being implied he doesn't have full control over his actions also not to mention he is the main antagonist of the snowgrave route as he gave you the thorn ring and intercepts Kris when they try to seal the fountain, then you realise why spamton is doing this not for a lust for power, or chaos but rather he is desperate and wants to be free by any means necessary as he has nothing to lose as his friends abandoned him because of a petty reason, which helped me empathise with spamton. This attitude is to the extent where even Kris themselves is terrified by spamton as implied in both his fights where Kris steps back from spamton in his first fight after he has a breakdown and forces out a no when you are given the option as Kris sees themselves in spamton trapped by a being beyond their control. this importance combined with how unimportant he is due to how little he is seen in deltarune chapter 2 compared to other characters which makes him such a compelling yet disturbing character, and why he is my favourite character in deltarune chapter 2.

@@valentinobisaccia1258 well similar thing happened to Jevil but the game didn't through the details like how it did with Spamton . I like them both and how the same person messed up with both of them . And i feel like when Spamton said to Kris that maybe they will be free from their strings he ment us who controling kris and we see how Kris don't like it . Damn man we just in 2 chs from 7 and crazy thing already happens . I wonder who is the new secret boss and is they will be iconic like Spamton ?

@valentinobisaccia1258 2 жыл бұрын
@@ajdndbdjbdj well at the very least spamton feels like a step up from jevil, he's not a bad character by any means I still enjoy his character, it's just spamton does his job better and is more disturbing because Toby went all out with the character which makes him more memorable and an interesting note is that spamton almost foils jevil which makes him more interesting, with jevil he seems completely in control and contempt with his newfound "freedom" despite his nihilistic view on the world being a game, but despite that being bored and wanting to mingle with others in a game. With spamton he seems to actively resent his predicament and is not control of his actions despite his efforts and is desperate to gain any sort of freedom or even a friend, since everyone abandoned him, even if it means potentially destroying the world by absorbing the dark fountain and killing darkners indirectly thanks to Noelle and Kris. Like I said he has more depth than jevil which makes him more interesting and more disturbing.

22:25 You just had to mention Humphrey didn't you.... What if I told you Humphrey was terrifying for a reason. He was trying to keep you from that last hour of the game, but you powered on anyway and you have no one but yourself for the trauma it gave you. (Massive explanation/spoilers below) It's explained that Headspace is a looping "cycle of blissful ignorance" designed to keep Sunny from reaching the Truth. And in Humphrey's boss fight he even references this saying "I'm afraid this cycle will never end", and that, "ignorance is bliss. How many times must we do this?" As one of the three great creatures of Headspace, Humphrey serves as a self-aware final boss that's trying to stop you from discovering the Truth. "Final boss" isn't quite the right word for it. He's closer to the final level of Pacman. A unbeatable barrier that Sunny is supposed to die against. That's what happened to all the skeletons lining his stomach, all that remains from the previous defeated loops. But Humphrey doesn't win. Not this time. Not when Sunny's about to move away the next day. You see, Humphrey is a metaphor for Headspace and Sunny himself. Like Sunny, Humphrey spends all his time inside of himself, talking with other versions of himself. All the characters in Headspace are just parts of Sunny's dream, and Sunny has retreated inside himself just like Humphrey. This fact is also referenced in the nature of Humphrey's level. Its a laboratory. While all the other areas in game are based on things in the real world, (Sweetheart's castle is based on Sweetheart movies; Last Resort on Sunny's blackjack computer game, etc) Humphrey's lab is never fully explained. While Humphrey himself is based on a baby book "Hungry Humphrey" implying that Humphrey is Sunny's oldest imaginary friend. But the laboratory is different. Its not based on anywhere in the real world, its based on an area in the Truth sequence. Shown at 23:36. The Humphrey laboratory is based on this hospital room, where patients watch cartoon programs of Sunny's adventures in Headspace as escapism, so they don't have to think about the medical reality of death, Mari's death. Humphrey is the last obstacle between Sunny and Blackspace. He literally gives the last key as a enemy drop, almost like he swallowed the key to keep Black Space locked away forever. He's described in the foe facts as "Absolute, raw terror." He represents the part of Sunny's mind thats screaming at him not to face the truth, to just run away and repeat the cycle again. But Sunny can't do it anymore. Sunny chooses to defeat Humphrey, striking him down in one blow, in a battle that should have been insurmountable. In the video, you said you want to unplay the game, so that you can be blissfully ignorant again. I'm sorry that you reached the end. I'm sorry that Humphrey couldn't stop you.

No, Doki Doki Literature Club deserves its spot on this list. It was quite a long while before it went so viral that people knew what they were getting into. Even six months after release, there were still streamers on Twitch (and not small ones either) who had no idea what they were getting into because they didn't follow that genre. All they knew is it had horror elements and that was if they'd bothered to read the warning at all. The game takes so long to flip the switch and advertises itself as so cute that to this day - parents ask if it's a game their kids can play. On top of that, it is the little things that are more disturbing because once you've started to see the horror.. you realize all along, the game was dropping hints in the first act and you missed them. Many people miss the "traceback.txt" in the background when things go wrong too. It's a very clever game that deserves all the praise it got.

Yes, when Noelle freezes an enemy, they are dead. If she uses Snowgrave on a normal enemy, they disappear into dust. Just like in Undertale when a monster dies. Udg felt like peak danganronpa to me. Dr2 missed some of its crazy psychopop style but udg delivered twofold. I loved it. Also BECAUSE the kids involvement. I loved it as DR game, thats supposed to make you feel like witnessing a roadkill, painful to look at but unable to avert your eyes. By just skimming over topics so dark and real, by having them in but not playing main role in story, it reminds us how little attention we give to issues that are present in our world and very much real. UDG wanted to make you scarred, feel this disturbing stuff branded in your brain, making you flinch when you think about it - not just when the game shows it, losing relevance when the credits roll. Thats whats danganronpa to me.

Honestly, I think Drawn To Life 2 should've at least been mentioned. It's a sweet little game where you play as the Creator, whom draws a little hero that lives with these cute little creatures called Raposa, and the hero sails from island to island in an attempt to defeat Wilfre, a little gremlin who's stealing all the colors in the world. You make friends along the way, save the friends you already had that Wilfre captured, and soon enough, color is restored to the world! Oh wait, whoops, I accidentally wrote the cutesy, written-on-the-tin description for this game. Allow me to start over! The game is *actually* about you, who is *actually God,* creating *Jesus,* who lives with creatures called Raposa that are *figments of an injured child's imagination,* and *Jesus* sails from island to island in an attempt to stop *Satan* from completing his plan of keeping as much color out of the world as he can, so the world won't disappear. Why would the Raposa world disappear? Oh I dunno, maybe because *THE GAME LITERALLY, NOT EVEN KIDDING, TAKES PLACE IN THE DREAM OF A CHILD THAT BARELY SURVIVED A CAR CRASH, LOST BOTH OF HIS PARENTS, AND WENT INTO A COMA THAT INITIATED THE EVENTS OF THE FIRST TWO DRAWN TO LIFE GAMES. JUST A HUNCH THOUGH!* I also forgot to mention, all of that seriously happens in this game! I'm not making parallels that aren't there! That is literally the in-game explanation for everything that happens in this game! Drawn To Life 3 even thoroughly explains to the player, yes, that seriously happened! Tl;Dr: Drawn To Life 2 is a cute game, until the last three minutes at least.

The most shockingly dark game I've probably ever played so far is Disco Elysium. While not a kids game, a lot of the games advertising makes it out to be a fun 70s detective game with unique table-top RPG mechanics. When you actually play the game though, you quickly discover how depressing and bleak it is. You pretty much play as a self-loathing, hoplessly depressed and suicidal detective who has lost all his memory and now has to try and solve a murder while piecing together who he once was in a war-torn poverty strucken place Revachol. I don't think I can do the game much justice by just describing all the other reasons why it's dark, so all I'm going to say is that you should play the game and experience it for yourself. It is a must play, an easy 10/10

Also in regards to Deltarune Chapter 2, let's not forget how creepy Spamton can be, especially after you go through the Snowgrave route. In the base game, you hear his dark backstory, see someone or something trying to break free from him, and there's also the entirety of Spamton NEO as a boss and as a character. No matter if Spamton dies or is left behind, he's not going to remove those puppet strings. The Snowgrave route, on the other hand, doesn't give you any real insight into who Spamton is, as he only appears inside of his dumpster to sell you items and keep track of the remaining enemies. When you get through the route, however, Queen's castle is barren except for Spamtonized portraits, Pipis on the floor, and only a few select enemies, and let's not forget how he comes out of nowhere after the Queen fight is skipped. These two things combined, in the Snowgrave route at least, give us no reason to sympathize with Spmaton and makes him seem all the more sociopathic and deranged. Plus, it makes his death all the more satisfying than it would be if you fought him in the non-Snowgrave route.

I'm surprised there are still people who knows this game. I have to say this. I remember playing it nearly when it first came out, while I was around 5 (yes i was playing video games at those ages on my father's pc), and to the little me it was some goofy game with unusual level mechanics and random stuff happening. It then honestly became like a classic piece where even years passed, you still go back and see it again from time to time for me. But as I played it again and again, grown up more and more every time, I realized different details, understood the story, found some lore behind it, and then the dark even though not too deep themes it actually went along with. I was honestly surprised each time. Even though it might seem like some simple and unimportant game, it's one of those rare things I could say I grew up with, which even if I never really mention, makes the game special for me. Mario and Luigi Partners in Time deserves a mention at least. Y'know, the RPG where the bros travel through time, teaming up with their baby selves to stop the Shroobs from destroying the Mushroom Kingdom and everything else? Often regarded as one of the darkest Mario games ever? Moments that really stand out are when you get a first taste of what the Shroobs are bringing in HolliJolli village. They bomb a village at Christmas time! And then there's Toadwood Forest where we find them strapping the Toads to trees and draining them of either their blood or lifeforce to convert it into fuel for their flying saucers and by the time the bros make it to the factory, the toads are dried up husks fusing with the trees begging for help! Y'know! For kids!

I know that you couldn't decide on what Kirby game was the darkest, but I do have one that I think takes the cake. Planet Robobot: with the main antagonist, President Haltmann, spending his whole life on trying to reactivate a wish-granting machine to save his daughter he lost in an accident years ago. His memory begins to fade due to multiple uses of the machine, and eventually the machine takes over Haltmann's body and soul. You begin to destroy the machine, and as you destroy it's core you can hear the screams of agony and misery of Haltmann's soul as you destroy what is left of it until the machine is left as nothing but a metallic husk with no motive left. The saddest part about his story? A secretary began to work for him that looked oddly familiar to him. However, he knew not who she was due to his memory being wiped. He continued to use the machine more to find his daughter, but it would never work. It turns out that his secretary as a true identity, Susie's full name is "Suzanna Haltmann," President Haltmann's own daughter.

I think Undertale’s Dark aspects are weak sauce in comparison to the Existential Dread of Deltarune (so far), from knowing that your player character is actively trying to resist your will by removing your soul from their body, to the act of Snowgrave Genocide being more than just wonton slaughter, but (literally)Cold calculated manipulation of a fragile girl who needed confidence more than raw power, and just the non-existence of The Dark Worlds, knowing that these worlds can be made and snapped out of existence with something as easy as sealing a fountain, and in the end some characters suspiciously knowing way too much. Plus let’s be frank, Undertale is dishonest. A good portion of the plot is easy to see as fabricated lies from a group of monsters salty about losing a war that they probably had more to do with then they’d let you believe. So honestly, I agree with the placement of Deltarune. I think it’s Existenial Horror far outstrips any obvious “horror” that Undertale has.

I do agree Deltarune is much more horrific than Undertale but still, don't diss that Undertale horror, both games go for a different sort of horror, for Undertale it's mostly body horror. (Flowey being the soul of a dead child now trapped in a flower unable to feel, the Almalgamates and the whole True Lab section, the other dead children souls which have been collected and kept for who knows how long trapped inside a glass container, Omega Flowey. @@Burn_Angel Nah, it ain't weak, it's kinda a slow burn type where you gotta stop and actually think about it to truly grasp the fuckmuppetry that's been going down. Ya gotta put yourself into those characters shoes and when you do is when it starts fuckin you up. Like the Amalgamates, imagine slowly dying in a lab and then you get injected with something and your fine and alive again only to then start fucking *_Melting_* and as you're panicking you bump into someone else and you both start fusing into each other and you can't stop it. THEN imagine having to live the rest of your life fused together with multiple other people and presumably your brains have also fused so you're not even the same person anymore. The cherry on top is being kept hidden in a underground grungy lab being fed dog kibble of all things for who knows how long. I could also go on about the horror of getting killed and having your soul being trapped inside a glass tube just having to watch the world go by for, once again, who knows how long. And then the whole thing with Flowey, dying and then suddenly you're awake but in a fucking flower. And then the realisation that flowers can't feel and you're now trapped in a unfeeling husk which eventually drives you crazy. Like goddamn. You can't tell me that ain't some shit.

@@poppythedogofwonders Sorry, in most of the cases, body horror is just shock content unless done particularly right. And Undertale's take on it is very weak. Unless you count Flowey's first transformation that is. I mean, that's still more shock than horror, but it's delivered a lot better. Honestly, if you care about this internet stranger's opinion, that last bit on the pacifist run feels as if it tried to rip off some RPGmaker game or something.

I always thought that Omori had more inspiration from Yuume Nikki than from Earthbound, the concept of dreams, a shut in, damn, there's even a secuence (the name of the area it's a spoiler by itself) that resembles the main hub from Yuume Nikki, mostly because of the doors and background. (also, spoilers) And actually, most of the dream secuences are like that for a reason. It's supposed to distract Sunny, make him forget everything, the fact that the dream version of his friends were searching for Basil (that was always the one that discovered the first leaks from Black Space in every cycle), and slowly forgot what they were doing while being distracted with all of the objectives, Space Boyfriend's tape, escaping from Sweetheart's castle, the Last Resort, Humphrey.
@enolathealone
@enolathealone 2 жыл бұрын
While I got to know about Omori thanks to Yume Nikki after being a hardcore Yume Nikki addict for years, I actually feel like Omori inspired from a lot of things together with Yume Nikki and Earthbound. Yes it had definitely a lot of stuff from Yume Nikki, say the hikikomori protagonists with a game that takes place in dreams, _cough_ the Oyasumi ending _cough_, and the literal Black Space itself which I'd absolutely consider a Yume Nikki fangame if it was a separate game. Though, the Headspace in general reminded me of Earthbound a lot too, both of them are odd adventures you go through with your friends afterall, while also covering dark themes. But other than that it had also slight inspirations from other games too, hell even other kinds of media. Sweetheart's castle part with sbf was kinda anime-ish for an example, not to mention there were some little cultural themes in a few corners here and there, like japanese culture. Man, especially after looking around Omocat's tumblr, she really is a man of culture huh.

@@enolathealone well, if I remember correctly earthbound is more like 90% of the time it's just some funny weird and wacky adventure with your friends, the last part of the game being possible nightmare fuel for kids at that moment. Omori has more in between "dark" parts in headspace thanks to the leaks from the deepest part of Sunny's mind, to me it was like a mix of Yuume Nikki and what would happen if there was something between earthbound's pace and, idk, mother 3's pace ? But yeah, it's kind of a good mix between those, it even began it's developement at that moment where there was a boom thanks to games based on earthbound (Undertale, a game about hope and... Lisa the painful, that one) At the end, Omocat got an odd combination about the core of the game, but still a good one. Omocat, 100% culture. Still, I want her to pay my post-omori therapy.

Kirby is a being of pure goodness (depending on how you see it) so it only makes sense that the arch-nemesis of the series is an embodiment of pure evil, the exact opposite of Kirby and by extension dreamland. Dreamland is a happy, cute and charming place, doesn’t it make sense for the creatures that wish to destroy it to be eldritch horrors that are anything but that? It really drives home that these creatures ARE NOT from dreamland, and ARE. NOT. GOOD. and that makes the player want to defeat them. Actually Sectonia Soul who you fight at the end of Kirby Triple Deluxe's True Arena Mode gets very disturbing during the 2nd and final phase of the Boss Fight against her basically when the 2nd and final phase of the Boss Fight against her starts she's so obsessed with revenge against Kirby that she literally rips her head off and throughout the rest of the 2nd and final phase of the fight not only do we have to witness the sight of seeing purple blood ooze out of the stump where Sectonia's head used to be but Sectonia is holding her severed head which is laughing manically.

I feel like a small detail about DDLC is how many chance scares there are, aka where the game rolls a chance, for example 1/6, and if you get it, something happens, from the hanging sayori poster in act 2, to the random end of poem act 2 scares, to Monika blue screening your pc for a short moment during one of the poems, even lowering it from top down (granted that last one is a guaranteed chance IF played on fullscreen, but it was worth mentioning imo), and the fact that NONE of these chance scares are in act 1

Ok chisel 2 by nitrome is a pretty dark game. The premise is you're a drilling robot in space that cuts planets down to size while avoiding or destroying violent robots. However, in chisel 2, Chisel's supervisor loses control of chisel and she destroys a bunch of planets and robots. For a flash game it made me think a lot as a kid. Those planets were people's homes. The robots do have families and I'm certain one planet was a nature preserve. Nitrome had a bunch of games that were dark, like Canary, AKA deadspace flash edition.

I suppose I'll throw in my games for this, the Metal Gear games, specifically Metal Gear Solid 2 with how the deconstructive nature and the nature of how the game unravelled with the meta narrative being at times especially thanks to the AI Colonel fucking creepy/eerie at times, he did a too good job alongside all the other genuinely unnerving/eerie/creepy shit the game does sometimes, also Metal Gear Solid 1 as Psycho Mantis genuinely bloody terrifying and is the one scary/tense moment in a game like MGS1.

Tales of series is very dark and scary despite having little blood. From human experimenting into monsters in Symphonia plus racism. Cloning and human trafficking in abyss and crestoria human shops for body parts. It's horrific if you read it. Batman Arkham series the scarecrow scenes are so scary and I think it could count as the series isn't directly a horror game. Dark souls. Neir series probably counts. I forgot the name but the vaults in that one game where we see it basically show Humanity in each horror situation we are put in. Twisted metal. Some of those endings are scary. I just wanted to destory cars. Any post apocalypse game where you explore the world and see how horrible and scary things become.

I think one should maybe be pokemon, the entire premise is forcing animals to fight. But the villains are really the disturbing part, there is Cyrus who is a depressed man who wants to destroy earth, ghetsis who manipulated people into thinking Pokémon are sad with there trainers and want to be let free. Then Volo who starts out as a kind person helping you throughout your journey in hisui but turns out to be evil and uses giritina to try to get to arceas to create a new world and let this one rot. But it would probably just be an honarobal mention because it is just a fun game where you collect pokemon to become champion of the region

I’d also put Megaman zero on this list. Really any of them except Z1, Zero 2 has the whole thing with Elpizo’s insanity, and Harpuia having his body turned against him begging Elpizo to stop with each attack, Zero 3 has you fail to save a city from getting nuked with people still in it and you actively see the ruins. Sure there aren’t any corpses but you KNOW they’re there, and an existential ship of Theseus moment with Omega. Zero 4 has the whole idea that Wiel’s punishment may have been too far and his complete psychological breakdown. Crafts well, Everything and of course the death of zero
@valentinobisaccia1258
@valentinobisaccia1258 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I like the zero series, it is the best megaman series imo as I am a die hard Megaman fan but it doesn't fit the criteria of the list as it isn't surprisingly or shockingly dark and I feel like there are things holding it back. For one this isn't the first Megaman series to tackle serious or dark topics the classic and especially X series discussed complex and dark topics like free will prejudice, power corrupting people, how no matter what you can't make everyone happy no matter what, and the flaws of the common good, PTSD and shell shock the idea that no matter what you can never keep the ones you love close as they will turn on you one day the fragility of all forms of life etc. Two to me at least the game immediately gave me the idea it was going to be dark to me the opening cutscene immediately signifies how dark this series is as it literally has members of the resistance immediately killed off and ciel tells zero what happened after the maverick wars. And Yes it does have some interesting and dark topics such as rascism in zero 4 where the humans distrust the resistance since they are reploids and how copy X prioritises human needs before reploids despite their being an energy crisis. The villains are easily the most disturbing in Megaman such as wiel having a disturbing face in zero four after being hit with Ragnarok and his motive for the events for the zero series and how he was punished for the elf wars were disturbing and him and copy X being metaphors and parallels for captialism and fascism and neo Arcadia being essentially a concentration camp for reploids or the dark elf omega and elpiso once being good people being corrupted and forced to do pretty dark things for their version of justice or being cursed in some way. or weil emotionally abusing and mistreating the baby elves treating them like cattle, in order to recover the dark elf as seen by the factory where wiel produces multiple if them to get the dark elf until they are killed by zero, made even worse by the fact they are implied to be children so zero committed pedacide in two misguided children and the events of the elf wars which I'm not discussing for the sake of length. Finally Though I agree it is the darkest mega Man series as it has plenty of dark moments it has some light hearted moments that fill you with hopes such as the arc of the guardians, specifically harupia fefnir and leviathan, going from hating zero to respecting and fighting along with him to defeat wiel, the great bond of the resistance with zero, and the beautiful endings if zero 3 and 4, some of my favourite endings in any game, as the ends of both though tragic as zero and X a possibly the guardians, but did to contradictory evidence I can neither confirm nor deny that they died in zero 3, die in those games the outcome lead to the zx series which was an era of peace that lasts for over two hundred years besides they and the guardians are revived as biometals so it's not as bad.

Other honorable mentions should have included both Honkai and Genshin Impact in my opinion. While both games have an anime-style cutesy aesthetic to them, the plot becomes darker and darker and the more you learn of the characters' backstories, the more you realize how terrible their world is. Spoilers for both games ahead: Genshin focuses a lot more on the cutesy style of gameplay and its story elements are usually overshadowed by the community's discussions about meta builds or resin improvements. However, the story of Genshin, while being a normal fairytale in the beginning, turns darker and darker, as you not only learn about the heavens of that world destroying humanity, the victims becoming the monsters you need to defeat at every turn, but the game goes as far as to tell you that these monsters, victims of the cataclysm that occurred thousands of years ago, are in constant pain, and the chapter detailing how they spend their life in their final days is chilling. Even excluding all of this, some environments of the game are terrifying, characters are seen getting slain by gods, we see characters getting abused, rocks that we mine every day actually having a memory of their own, and the depressing lore of the world between the Abyss (a group of monsters who often control the victims of the cataclysm), the vishaps and the human realm. Most characters, also, often have tragic backstories which led to them either being easily manipulated, sent down the evil path themselves, or receiving a Vision, the source of their elemental power. To mention the main characters as well, chosen MC's sibling turns against MC, but we only find this after a few chapters, since the sibling managed to witness the cataclysm, and so has decided to help the Abyss and the victims, becoming their leader, also seemingly corrupted by their abyssal power. The prequel manga series also features most elements that I just talked about, but the main focus of that is a group called the Fatui, who are doing everything they can to bring their god the source of ultimate power, for a seemingly unknown reason, but doing it in a brutal way. Honkai completely hides its dark side in the first few hour of gameplay, looking like nothing more than a 3rd person action fighting game. But after less than 10 chapters in, it becomes apparent that something is wrong, yet the hints are so subtle they often get overlooked. The game gets progressively darker and darker though, but that is not only coming from the game itself. To venture more into this world and truly care a lot about it and its characters, you have to read the manga series, which is much lengthier than Genshin's. However, it's also far more brutal. It not only features dark tones of gods turned evil and literal demons and beings that can manipulate the world itself, but it goes as far as explaining the most important characters of the game as having been abused and tortured by a corporation as a child, being the fake version of themselves after the real version was taken away and became evil, slowly driving themselves mad because of their loss, and even scenes with fully horror elements and plenty of gore, all of this hidden behind an anime art style

I feel like Just Shapes And Beats could be an honorable mention. It's not a horror game, but it has some pretty disturbing concepts. *Major spoiler warning!* The main villain, who has no confirmed name (we'll call them Blixer since it's a pretty commonly used name for them), is a monster that was trapped inside a boss level for God knows how long. Once the hero (who we'll call Cyan) plays the level, that's the first interaction Blixer has had with anyone in years. But of course, they're a boss, so they're gonna attack Cyan. After that boss, you are immediately introduced to the world in which jsab takes place, Paradise. You make a friend and you go into a cave, and the game says that it's apparently over. Before i continue, let me explain that triangles are very powerful items in this universe, and they could easily mutate you if not used correctly (you actually witness that happen). In the cave, there is a little grey creature just quietly existing in the center of the cave. There's also a triangle nearby. The triangle floats around, and eventually gets near the little creature. It immediately uses the opportunity to *jab a corner of the triangle in it's head.* Turns out that creature was actually Blixer, who was trapped under the crystal floor, and needed the triangle to be set free. After an attack sequence, where you and your new friend are constantly running from them, they destroy a very important tree, which was literally constructed of three giant triangles. Pretty much, Blixer splits the tree into three pieces, uses one to power up (gets mutated in the process), and fights you. You later find out that Blixer is trying to corrupt Paradise and it's residents, and pretty much, they have a world domination plan. After multiple levels and a few bosses, you get to fight Blixer again. Nothing much, you beat the boss, all is well. Well, not really. Blixer just DOESN'T want you to win. They launch you away from the last triangle, and jab themselves in the head with it. *For the second time in the game.* The mutations that endure after doing this are not as scary, but are still horrifying concepts. Same goes for the mid-boss transformation. The mutations are as follows. Eyes turn black with a pink outline (normally white with a pink outline), and then one by one, their eyes literally visually *burst* and pink ooze is now coming out from them, while at the same time their mouth disappears. The background music before you enter the level is a ridiculously slowed down version of the boss music, which is Annihilate by Destroid. Mid-boss transformation literally shows their head cracking open, revealing the new form, which is a more monstrous looking version of them. It's not visually scary, but if you think about it, it's a pretty dark concept. Blixer is a power-hungry beast who would not care if getting what they wanted would mean ridiculously mutating their body or literally risking death. That's pretty messed up if you tell me.

In my opinion. I think little misfortune and little nightmares (one and two) should've been mentioned. Little misfortune is about a girl with bad luck. Everywhere she goes, she always has the bad luck with her. but even with the bad luck, she is mostly positive. Even if her parents abuse them, or having bad luck where ever you go. And then some narrator is trying to capture her. He lures her in by telling her that along the way, there would be some eternal happiness. It was all a lie. He is some sort of demon who was responsible for the Dissapearence of many children. For little nightmares, there are lots of scary moments in it but the worst part are the ways the villains die in the game. The janitor: got his arms chopped off by a door. Not sure if he is dead tho. Most likely. The chefs: nothing happened to them The customers: in one of the chase scenes, we see that six would be running from a pile of customers, so she has to swing the lamp and get to the other side. If she succeeds one of them will fall down and it seems like a giant fall. The lady: gets knocked out by mirrors and then gets eaten alive in the neck. The hunter: gets blasted with a shotgun in the stomach. The teacher: nothing happens. The doctor: get incinerated inside a furnace. The thin man: gets killed by some sort of power by mono. But what is gonna happen is that there is going to be a loop each time a mono kills a thin man, because six betrays mono and now the only thing mono gets to do is sit down like the thin man. Which he waits until he turns into the thin man.
