Iron Maiden is my biggest snub but this artist is pretty close and while is seen as a Jazz icon he has a influence in all sorts of musical icons and that is the one and only legendary Mr John Coltrane the greatest saxophone player to walk the earth! Given how diverse the Hall sees Rock n Roll I scratch my head as I have only seen a few cases of him being on the biggest “Hall snubs” list!

Tommy James is an egregious snub. He was a hit machine across 3 decades. If he had remained the bubblegum king he started as, maybe not, but he evolved into outright psychedlia (check out the long version of Crimson & Clover), then into adult-rock. He should have been in long ago. Soundgarden deserves a mention too. I think they’re on the Mt. Rushmore of Grunge (with a lead singer you can actually understand without a lyric sheet, unlike Nirvana and Pearl Jam).

Excellent picks. You hit it right on! All ten of your choices are massively influential. I'm also really pulling for Joy Division/New Order this year. I think they're going to get in. The New York Dolls belong in there, as well. There'd be no Kiss, Aerosmith, Guns N' Roses or countless others without them.

My top 10. 1. Three Dog Night 2. The Monkees 3. ELP 4. Grand Funk Railroad 5. Bad Company 6. Foreigner 7. Jethro Tull - not a fan of them but they have to be in the Hall 8. Devo 9. REO Speedwagon 10. The Carpenters Three Dog Night had 21 top 40 hits. Yeah 21, and they are not in the Hall. The Monkees out did the Beetles in those 5 years. No other band was bigger than them.

Enjoyed the video and the "RRHOF" really burns me up ! I'm a big jazz fan but why is Nina Simone in ? Dolly Parton ? The yearly snub of King Crimson really irks me ! My other is XTC , such a critically acclaimed group. But for some reason the GoGos 🤭 ( ho hum ) are in for what reason I don't know. Your 10 have a lot of merit , including my one other favorite being Eno .

Gram Parsons’ influence is boundless, while his life story hugely iconic. The Pixies and My Bloody Valentine. B-52s, Bad Brains. And I will always have a crush on Mary Weiss of the Shangri-Las.

Jann Wenner was a rich kid that didn't even like music but liked selling ads in a rag that just happened to be about music. His opinion of what's good is meaningless. There was a time when all the rich kids had all the toys and were football players and cheerleaders. They liked undeniable musical acts (Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones...) but anything over their heads was garbage. Like outcasts, outlaws, and nerds making art that was real, such as the Replacements, Link Wray and Brian Eno. Now the the toys for the rich kids are being in bands (Strokes) and the jocks just wear leather jackets now. Thank you Jann Wenner. It was great when you would get sideways looks wearing a Clash T Shirt. Now you can put on your CBGB shirt under your two thousand dollar blazer with designer jeans and tennis shoes. Inherited wealth created some of the dullest people on the planet...

I am not even a fan of Jethro Tull but by any objective measurement you want to use, they belong in the Hall of Fame. Their omission must be due to some internal politics. I think you can make a very strong case for the Guess Who as well.

Something to remember.. Just because you are nominated doesn't mean you are deserving to be the Hall.. And the ones that don't deserve it DON'T get in.. So to get mad because someone was nominated is just silly.. Doesn't mean they will get in.. And most of people's snub lists every single year are always the same.. 70s bands that haven't gotten in.. There is an easy reason for that.. You have to be the best to get in.. And the best from the 70s are already there.. Remember.. The BEST get in.. So Jethrow Tull isn't getting in..and neither is Motor Head.. And neither is Grand Funk Railroad and Kansas and King Crimson and Bad Company and all the rest of the same lists people yell about every year.. And will tell again next year and the year after that and the year after that..the only people that think the Hall is stupid is only cause the band they like aren't there.. Just the truth.. But INXS and B52s not even been nominated is strange to me because they check every box for the Hall.. But my band finally got in last year and I was on a committe for 8 years to get them in..so I have no skin in the game anymore and that was Duran Duran.. Every band that isn't in always and I mean always say they don't care about being there But Simon Le Bon summed it up perfectly last year when he said that when you aren't in the Hall you say it doesn't matter and you don't care and it's stupid anyway.. But when you get nominated it's the most important thing in the world and when you get inducted it's like being knighted in music form 👍

I'm sorry, but that's just not true. All the bands that deserve to get in are not in, and there are some that are in that are questionable to say the least. Take King Crimson. By any objective measure, one of the most important and influential bands within progressive rock. Not saying that as a fan, but as someone who understands the history and development of this music. A pioneer band like that in any genre within rock and roll should be a no brainer. And while I'm not a huge fan of someone like Grand Funk Railroad, how is Bon Jovi any different? Neither were innovative, neither particularly influential, both just sold a lot of records and had catchy hits. So why Bon Jovi in, Grand Funk not? And you yourself threw out a few of your own personal Snubs (INXS, B-52s). What makes that any different than my or any other rant on Rockhall Snubs? But we can agree on this: both of us are very happy Duran Duran finally got in.

Number of records is not relevant to impact (see Sex Pistols). They were a foundational band of power pop. Many artists have cited them as a huge influence. No question on Big Star.
