The reason I really love the Magikarp line is it's connection to Japanese folklore, based on koi fish being able to swim upstream. The legend states that if a koi ascends the Yellow River to a place called Dragons Gate, the koi becomes a Dragon. The reason I know and like this tale is because of a song called Becoming the Dragon by American thrash metal band Trivium. Trivium's frontman is Japanese-American and was born in Iwakuni, Japan.

In Ultra Sun + Ultra Moon, You can fuse Necrozma with Lunala or Solgaleo to get Dawn Wings or Dusk Mane Necrozma, which you can then use Ultranecrozium Z on to get Ultra Necrozma, which has a base stat total of 754. Crazy. (I looked this all up, by the way.)

Another thing that makes Gyrados very powerful in a pokemon playthrough is that it evolves pretty early at level 20. So you get a fully evolved pokemon that can carry its waight just fine in lategame while other strong pokemon are still in their relatively wheak pre evolutions. Thats why I usually get a magikarp as early as I can and powertrain it to have kinda a secret weapon. Only thing you have to fear then are electric attacks.

One of my few major regrets is that I’ve never been able to use Togekiss in a main game team. You can’t get a Shiny Stone until Kanto in Heart Gold or Soul Silver, and every time I’ve played Platinum, I never ONCE got the Serene Grace ability. Plus, in the case of Platinum, Staraptor is generally considered the best Flying-Type; so I’ve never been able to justify using Togekiss instead. Maybe one day, I’ll get a Switch and play Sword and Shield. Then I would DEFINITELY consider using Togekiss. With Serene Grace, naturally.

I'd have switched milotic and blissey, the reason why, because the stat increase from the base/ baby evolution is larger between feebass and milotic. Using smogon for crobat and noivern is fine because they both start out at the same base stats

Goomy gets oneshot if I try using it against anything close to its level. Attack and sp attack are awful but defense is abysmal. I mean. The pokedex did warn me-weakest dragon type indeed. (Currently taking a break from leveling this thing lol)

I think that baby Pokemon shouldn't be considered around the weak Pokemon list because... well, they are babies... it's like a level below the base... Cosmog included. Also, for the Chansey/Blissey thing, it should be noted that if Chansey loses eviolite, it'd lose a LOT of power and also, Blissey can use some other item instead, so there are pro and cons. And Gardevoir is a noble... I think a French noble. So it's just using outdated fashion. And I think calling Wishywashy weak is kinda cheating. I mean, it's basically a Pokemon that can vary in power... having a weak and strong form...

Crobat, zubat may not have that low of a base stat total but zubat is HELL to train in its early stages until it learns wing attack at level 20.

Following tradition from Pokemon Black and White, Black and White 2, X and Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, etc. whenever an old Pokemon is introduced with a new form, that form is stronger than the last in some form or another in its base stats. Whether or not its competitively viable or not is always up for debate though.

I used a Wishiwashi before. It is so much fun! If anyone here watches ChuggaConroy, e did a Let's Play of Pokemon white, and he used an Archeops. It's basically the same thing. Although it can be a hinderance, the beast only rarely even went into defeatist. If you have high defenses on a Wishiwashi and have a decent supply of potions, you're all set.

A few thoughts: I love that Staraptor, Crobat, Noivern, and Togekiss all share the Flying type as well as the same base stats. Very cool info. I didn’t realize Ralts was so weak either! I guess early game gen 3 didn’t pose too much of a threat for me growing up considering that confusion move coming in clutch. (I love Psychic Pokémon) The blue hair is sexy.
