The Snag Ball doesn't turn Pokémon into Shadow Pokémon, Team Cipher was doing that in a lab to Pokémon they'd caught or stolen. The game merely forces your moral compass and won't allow you to use a Snag Ball on anything other than a Shadow Pokémon when you encounter one.

Level ball is great too specilly if you already have a maxed lvl Pokemon.. It becomes X8 when your pkmn lvl is 4times higher than the wild pkmn, than X4 when above 2 and lower than 4 times higher than the wild pkmn. Than 2 times if just a lvl higer.. The downside is it becomes just like a regular pokeballs when you lvl is equal to the wild pkmn..

The snag ball doesn't turn pokemon into shadow pokemon, it just captures shadow pokemon from other trainers. The bad guys are the ones who turned them into shadow pokemon. The snag balls capture trainer's pokemon but in the first game, your partner makes sure you don't steal a normal pokemon and in the sequel you have a visor that does the same thing.

Well, not entirely. There’s a major flaw in this video that needs mentioning. The snag ball does not do anything close to turning the Pokèmon into a shadow Pokèmon. It merely captures other trainer’s Pokèmon. In the game, you have a moral compass and are only allowed to capture shadow Pokèmon with the snag balls, but the shadow Pokèmon are made that way by the criminal syndicate Cipher. The Snag Machine itself has nothing to do with shadow Pokèmon.

Snag balls aren’t exactly that strong, they’re essentially just regular Pokéballs but are able to steal Pokémon.

And on top of that, they don't MAKE the pokemon caught into shadow pokemon. The only feature the machine adds to the ball is the ability to catch a trainer's mon. So, yes, technically you could say a snag ball is the best ball, because you can use it to upgrade any other ball. But a snag ball isn't even it's own ball. I don't believe it should count as a separate ball, really.

I've already got a half sleeve tattoo of Clone Charizard with the Clone/Mewtwo Balls, perhaps I should round it out with another tattoo of Dark Tyranitar with the Dark Ball. Those were by far my favorite Pokemon in the old movies when I was a kid. I especially remember that Dark Tyranitar scared the crap out of me. Shadow Lugia is cool too, but it doesn't have a special specific ball to go with it.

The Quick Ball is so awesome. It really helps with quickly filling out the Pokédex. The Timer Ball is also awesome. It helps a lot on battles that are taking ages, especially against legendary Pokémon.
