I don't know if I should get the As I Am curling jelly or the Mielle Organics curling custard. I never tried As I Am products but I've used Mielle Organics Pomegranate and honey leave-in and it was ok I wasn't in love with it. I have thick, coarse 3c 4a/4b collarbone length hair and I'm a wash n' go style gal. Hold and definition is key but moisture is a must!

One ☝🏾I haven’t built up the courage to a wash and go. But I do have the mane choice braid out glaze which I pair with the argan eco-styler and it makes my curls last longer. When I use it by itself it gives me volume and my curls aren’t as defined. I’d like to try Miele Organics, thanks for the warning because I’m a fine and thin curly haired girl myself. I need to buy As I Am leave in and try their jelly I’ve heard amazing things. Great review as always 🥰❤️!

One!!!! I use all of the stylers you mentioned except for Taliah Waajid and Aunt Jackie's. Yes the DevaCurl elongating cream is expensive but I have substituted that for the Supercream because it is cost effective when comparing the two. I love DevaCurl but always thought we were being ripped off by the price and the small amount of Supercream. As an aside, I used my TreLuxe products for the first time Monday and my curls still look good. I am a fan now. A little certainly goes a long way. I used too much Untie the Knot, but I was able to soak some of that up with my tee shirt before I applied the gel. I wasn't heavy handed with that and did not get any flakes. Yay!!!!

One! I have no idea how to work that curl maker I tried twice. Once with the coconut water leave in and again with the almond jai.. epic fail both times.. maybe i should try it solo but idk I'm a type 4 and idk if it has enough hold for the humidity down here in New Orleans

I find that the curl maker works best for me when my curls are completely clean and have no product and then i make sure my hair is extremely wet before applying the product!

One! I’ve tried the Deva Curl elongating cream, the as I am curling jelly, uncle funkys daughter, and the CR naturals gel. I have to admit I put a leave in under them all. Finally tried Camille Rose Curl Maker yesterday. And although it had 2 pluses for me(didn't dry my hair out as badly as the As I am Jelly or any other product with Aloe in it and it did define my curls at the front and crown of my head, if not around my ears or in the back). I just feel like this is going to have to be another curling gel that is a no go for me unfortunately. As I just don't know what it is in aloe that thins my hair out so much. But, that is definitely what I felt this morning when I uncovered my hair. Which I think again is in part of why my hair experiences some level of frizz. Cause I know prior to going natural and not using products that had aloe in them. I've had thicker and I guess smoother hair that didn't ever frizz as much. But now, it's like any time I try anything even with a little aloe in it, my hair turns as fine as my mom's and wiry as all get out. In a word, straight up don't know how to act lol. So the quest continues to find a gel/cream that gives me some good definition throughout and doesn't compromise the overall health of my hair in the long run. I do appreciate the suggestion of this product and the As I am Gel too.

It's all good. Just another trial and error endeavor really. I'm just overall glad that it didn't majorly dry out my hair as much. I think trying it on my wash day was the best approach to using it. As all the additional moisture from the conditioners and all that helped. But yea, the thinning is just a no for me.
