Dreymon Green that’s because all the megafauna are dead here (other than the kangaroo and wombat). Thylacaleo the marsupial lion isn’t even mentioned in this vid, even though they were like saber tooth cats that climb trees to ambush prey (which were giant wombats). Also giant killer kangeroos and giant platypus.

Howitzer 0 . Another delusioned American no doubt? Don’t believe the media hype. I’m 70 and I’ve never been bitten by anything, except maybe a little ant. The bulk of dangerous things are up in far North Queensland/Northern Territory, nowhere near our beautiful major cities. In city suburban areas the worst are a couple of types of snakes and spiders, which do not attack humans, unless you go after and annoy them. Even our famous drop bears are not known to attack humans.

@Bitchslapper316 3 жыл бұрын
@Jamie K Yes a lot of it is absolutely speculation and has nothing to do with my lifetime. The vast amount of the information that is presented about ancient humanoids and extinct animals is based on just a few bone fragments. Take the Denisovans as an example. There are videos, books and articles talking about how they lived and interacted with the world and it was all based on a tooth and a jawbone fragment. You can go to any science channel and watch detailed videos giving descriptions of the weather on exo planets and it's all based on a distant glimmer of light. As I said speculation.

Yep. Panterinae include Panthera Tigris (tiger), Panthera Leo (African lion), Panthera Leo Persica (Asian lion), Panthera Onca (jaguar), Panthera Pardus (leopard, or panther), Panthera Oncia (snow leopard). I also find definitive affirmations on the biology of smilodon to be a bit of a stretch. Using language like smilodon hunted this way and that way, as if they had been observed is not honest; it is far better to present as: from their body features that can be reconstituted and their environment, we can assume that they used such method on such type of prey, etc...

simply, kill the kids of the big one, and the big one will vanish. there is a reason why they all died off, after humans gone to there place. african megafauna has a extremly high kids protection, so that is more difficulty to get the kids of lion and co. but they evolved together with humans, and it was there adaptaion to survival. the list here, all animals, which let there kids free to kill, or were there eggs were easy to get. humans are the strongest predator on this planet, even as a caveman.

If one studies modern predator and prey scenarios, then the most dangerous activities that humans were involved in were was probably foraging while spread out, going to a water hole, fishing, or crossing a body of water with lots of cover nearby. A group of humans acting as a team in open country could probably deter most large predators even when they were in packs by presenting a small group of spearpoints to each attack. Being caught alone was probably avoided as much as possible.
