This show probably isn't the best to watch if you're a medical student, or an actual nurse or doctor, since you'd be able to notice the discrepancies quicker!

Yeah, the same with Royal pains. One episode in season 1, a person was having a seizure & so the doctor said to hold onto her head. But everyone knows that you’re supposed to turn the person to their side so that they don’t choke on their spit/tongue or blood (rare occasion though).

Nothing was ruined for me. Medical inaccuracies aside, I thoroughly enjoyed the whole series. The phrase 'willing suspension of disbelief' should cover it.

As a doctor, I really couldn’t watch this show because it was so ridiculous, all the time! The only way I could watch it was as a complete comedy/ satire/farce… Or sometimes I would play “name the obscure diagnosis that they’re going to try to get at while they make 15 mistakes that a first year medical student wouldn’t make “. 😂😂

thank you. i've been saying number 1 every time they use those dang paddles on somebody with no heartbeat. i'm not a doctor but i watch a lot of doctor mike videos and he taught me that when someone's heart has stopped you need to do chest compressions. not shock them

I hate how many series use defibrillators wrong. I have never seen a series use one correctly.

Throughout the series: Doctors do not run their own tests. I work in a hospital lab, and I don’t think I have EVER seen a doctor in it, other than the pathologist dropping off papers.

While I think House was a good show they are definitely more things they got wrong. The Colchear Implant patient. They couldn't just implant on because they think he needs it during surgery. Also they take 6 months to activate. So many errors with that story line

It's something that's supposed to be entertaining (and in my opinionn certainly is). It's not trying to be real live or a documentary. Learn to live with that and try to get your own vids just a bit entertaining in stead of the dribble they ususally are. Otherwise learn to code.

i saw on an epsoide of FBI files where they used truth serum and it works

It's not that various "truth" serums don't or can't work, it's that they're very unreliable. There is no fool-proof "serum" it's only meant to sedate a person, lowering the brains ability to use higher level thinking. This helps prevent a person from using made up situations, circumstances, excuses, or lies making it "easier" to speak truthfully. There is a small margin of error between being non-effective or intoxication, or killing a person (Sodium Pentothal was actually also used in lethal injections). In many cases a sedated person can have drug induced delusions, and cannot discern them from reality or truth, and thus answer or speak whatever they recall as believing it is true regardless if it's not. Being under the influence of such drugs, can also influence answers depending on the wording of leading questions. Similarly, in the movie Meet the Fockers... when given Sodium Pentothal, Greg speaks as though Jorge is his son; when he in fact, is not. Given the "evidence" and "facts" by Jack and similarities in their looks, Greg honestly believes Jorge is his son, when that's not actually true.

It just occurred to me that the little girl (probably) would need hormone blockers added to the testosterone, otherwise she would still menstruate. But I still don’t believe she would start her period so early like in the episode. Unless she was receiving extra doses of estrogen too? 🤔

This show was good for the first 2-3 seasons then slowly turned to shit…. The only medical show worth watching straight through, beginning to end are St. Elsewhere and ER, but St. Elsewhere is still the king of med shows
