Get an is300. Don’t over think it. Just take care of your car and it’ll last a long time. I personally love my is 300(2001). It runs like a champ. A lot of things he points out are really insignificant. Don’t mind the older style of driving. You can’t compare this older model to newer ones.

Some of the things you hate depend on the version you got. The electric mirrors were present in MK1 IS, as well as different types of materials were used in the interior. Thanks for the idea of buying the cup holder insert, it's actually a good upgrade.

You can get rid of sticky dash with isopropyl alcohol and paper towels. The finish is much nicer than sanding.

I certainly agree on the tacky dash. Mine turned all sticky then years later it finally dried out. I believe Toyota recalled some cars with this problem but unfortunately not the IS300.

Anything under 170 thousand miles sounds about right and if there’s holes in the seat low ball under 2k and see. What happens there’s a website for 1$ it gives you the car history too

1. Lexus sells a forever key to replace the known issue with the key. 2. There was a guy who showed how to use a lighter to remove the scratches from car plastics. I'm careful so I don't really have that issue. 3. Leather conditioner goes a long way in keeping the leather looking good. Why does nobody know how to properly maintain a leather interior in these cars. As for the radio, get a GROM unit and it will uldate the stock head unit. 4. On my IS the storage underneath the arm rest has a pop out drink holder. I use that instead since mine also came with Navigation. 5. The sticky dash wasn't an issue on the first year of the IS. Just swap it out with a first year or paint it. Bonus: paddles....meh rather have a manual. Your glove box is a mess, woah. What is all that? LEATHER CONDITIONER! Also, never had an issue with my seats and I have driven for hours in it. Might need to see a chiropractor about that lower back issue. That body line protects the car from dents when you swing the door open.

I have a ‘01 with LSD, leather and suede ,sunroof, heated seats, paddle shifters, etc. and I don’t have any of those problems you have man. Thank god my dash hasn’t done that and my car is in the sun most of the time.The leather is great has lasted me forever fortunately. But I mean wear & tear could tear anything after time. Even suede depending on the wear as how often you get in and out of them. And I agree with no space area, the seat comfort for your lower back, the dumb paddle shifter setup and the no power folding mirrors, idk why they didn’t do it. That’s as dumb. It’s a luxury car, it should’ve had all of that for the price it was back in the day. To me this car was the best in its class especially with the 2JZ engine. I guess they’re were just testing the market with this car to see how it sells but it wouldn’t have hurt to throw those little touches in that. That’s precision and attention to detail.

Definitely would be more fun! Mines is auto and I love having the paddle shifters but they should’ve even bigger with the up shifting in the front and the down shifting in the back like modern cars lol. Plus you have storage for a gun if you need protection or anything other than than the glove or trunk. I just don’t get it 🤷🏼‍♂️

Dear sir, question about the Lexus IS300 when you are in manual mode e-shift and you press down or up and press the gas pedal until rev limiter will the gear box shift to higher gear automatically or it will remain on rev limiter ? So the question is simple of is possible then you can drift with it with traction control module removed, right, because I know that traction control is kicking in even switched off, right ?

Yes the 04s do have Sticky dash problems 03-05 had the problem 01-02s did not I went sanded my dash before it got sticky which helped a lot I recommend wet sanding with a super light grit like 3000 grit that will prevent sticky dash and your dash will have a flat finish instead of a glossy finish which will later lead to a sticky finish
