Hi thanks for your question. Yup, taking day tours is the more common and economic way to do island hopping. Coral island day tour is about USD30, James bond and Phiphi day tours are about USD45-50 (including transport and food). You can check www.klook.com, and search "Phuket" to find more about the day tour packages. Btw, Phi Phi islands are quite big and have a lot of things to do, and worth staying overnight. You can take speedboat to Phi Phi Don (one way is 1,000bht), stay there overnight, then second-day book a tour to Phi Phi Leh and the surrounding islands. Hiding spots, you mean some quiet places just to relax? You can check out Cape Panwa viewpoint, best place to watch sunset. My go-to cafe is Laem Sai Cup Coffee, near Karon, can include in your trip when you go to the Big Buddha. @@debischlemmer7878 Lolz np! For hiking trail the one i highly recommend is Kata beach to Big Buddha. The starting point is the street Patak Soi 12. The trail is a bit steep, taking around 2hrs, but the view is really good. A lot other view points you can do a bit hiking too, Karon viewpoint, Cape Phrom thep, black rock view points. Oh not to mention the beaches if you want to walk along the beaches, Kata beach, Karon beach, Kamala beach...spoilt of choices

If you travel with kids, can consider buying seasick medicines, the speedboat from Phuket to Phi Phi could be choppy. James bond island tour is also suitable for kids. Canoeing through caves is particularly fun, think kids will like it

Lolz depends on how you see it. Minus the transportation costs and food costs, you spend around 5-6usd per hour to hire a friendly local guide to accompany you, touring around and finding the best local foods, explaining to you the history of the food. Seems not a bad deal 🤣
