It's a travesty what happened to Tebow in NY. This guy was never going to be anything special but I have no doubt he could've been a serviceable QB with a good career in the NFL if he had the opportunity. You can say he won by chance but the type of competitor he was, hard worker, leader, he made the most of his ability and always put his team in a position to win. People act as if he had no talent at all, but you really think guys like Sanchez and Cutler and Bortles deserved more chances than him? Please.

Tebow is the fastest scoring first time starting QB in NFL history since Dan Marino in 1984. Go look and see if you can find anyone that scored 34 times in 549 touches in their first 16 games of playing time. Good luck. In 2010/2011, his 19 passing TDs in 374 attempts would rank 8th for TDs per attempt when compared to the 2011 starters. He was a top 3 scoring rusher with 15 scores. 34 scores would rank 2nd in 2010 for scores by a QB.

i'll tell you what -- i wish i was a good looking guy who won the Heisman Trophy once and was a finalist 2 other times and played in the NFL with a 2 game playoff QB rating of 90% and a pretty decent 17 TD to 9 INT's ratio. Trouble with Tewbow is although he had an average arm it was just hard to implement a system where you incorporate a talented running QB with an average *PRO ARM* he was sure exciting to watch (never a dull moment)

In the 2011 season, he threw 6 picks.................. on 271 attempts. Ryan Tannenhill threw 6 on 284 attempts this year...... But nobody is saying Tannenhill is an interception machine. It is doubly hilarious seeing this because it avoids what happened once he faced the Patriots - they didn't play him scared like everyone else had before that, they attacked him head-on and made him have to QUARTERBACK - read the defense, direct the receivers, deliver the ball where it has to go. Tebow got exposed as someone who can't think fast enough or figure out situations fast enough to quarterback.

If Tebow had been given a sincere opportunity to become an NFL quarterback, I would bet that the NFL viewership would not be down by some 15% since he was released. I know that you guys will give me a thousand reasons that he wasn't an NFL quarterback but he did win a couple of College football championships and that Heisman trophy. If he would have just kept his mouth shut about his religious convictions and maybe protested something, he would have been fine! Anybody ever looked at the first 10 years of the legendary Johnny Unitas' NFL career? It just drives me insane the venom that comes against Tebow while his brief NFL record looks about right for a rookie.
