I miss full backs ,real ones. And I miss the times when players cared if they lost . Nowadays after a loss it’s like they are all buddies laughing and joking around .

I think the whole lack of real animosity between teams has a lot to do with free agency. Guys naturally (and, I think, smartly) don’t want to make blood feuds with teams when they know they aren’t gonna be on their own team forever. Why would they risk closing off potential avenues when the team they’re playing might be willing to sign them down the line? Whether you think that’s right or not is a different issue, but I think it’s no mystery why teams aren’t as bloodthirsty anymore.
@EmmaBonn962 жыл бұрын
I would counter and say that player movement has actually increased animosity. I think of just what the Panthers have in the last year and the next. Their opening game features their disgruntled quarterback going against their old team.
@purplefood1 Жыл бұрын
@@EmmaBonn96 Yeah before Free Agency the best chance of revege against your old team was trying to place a curse on them or something
@JackTheripper911 Жыл бұрын
While there is some merit to this thought its also slightly bone-headed because you're implying that an organization/player would *willingly* not sign to a specific entity because of them being on another team and being competitive. A great example is Dennis Rodman signing with Chicago after playing in Detroit. If you know anything about the Bad boys vs Jordan bulls feud, its that they *hated* each other. Team and players all, and that was *mutual* hatred between the teams and players. HOWEVER Chicago *still* chose to seek Rodman when he was a free agent, and Rodman signed with them despite the fact that Rodman n' co. Were trying to take Jordan's head off each time they played each other. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" fits fairly well in this situation (though obviously its not a perfect fit)

One thing I miss about football is the returns on every kickoff because it seems like 95% of kickoffs end in touchbacks these days!
@stevendebraccio46572 жыл бұрын
That’s a really good one that I had forgotten about!
@swill00162 жыл бұрын
The reason that is, is because they kickoff from the 35 instead of the 30. Closer to the opposite end zone so more touchbacks. Done to cut back on head injuries. More high speed collisions on kickoff returns than the rest of the game.
@i.m.2bizee569 Жыл бұрын
Built buff receivers are things we hardly see. Now today's receivers look skinny with their skinny arms.
@EmmaBonn964 ай бұрын
Well it seems like the new rule changes are trying to bring kickoffs back into the game Yes it will be different, but there’s an incentive now not to just boot it out the end zone We may see kickoff returns reemerge in importance

I miss when they let them boys play football. These athletes are bigger, stronger and faster than ever. They must be protected. That being said, the equipment is higher quality and the new rules have made it entirely too tough on defenses.

23:40 I think the problem now is that the ace package has replaced the pro set. Most teams will line up with 3 wide receivers. It became more efficient to have an additional wide receiver than a full back. At the same time. High school coaches are running spread formations and run and shoot formations. This means there aren’t as many fullbacks who play in college which means there are even less that play in the nfl. I’m stealing this from KTO, but I think fullbacks may return one day. As linebackers get lighter in order effectively cover speedy pass catchers, some coaches may find that it is easier and more efficient to run up the middle with a powerful fullback, or have that fullback block. Personally I think the raiders should use their fullback often this year. Davante Adams, Hunter Renfrow, and Darren Waller all usually deserve double coverage, so an additional wide receiver may not be as useful as a back who can block when the right side of the line breaks down.
