It's interesting how the UK version of Hell's Kitchen came out before the US version, yet the US version has been around for nearly 3 times as long.

Kitchen nightmares came out in 2004 in the UK, and the US came out in 2007

The UK version was quite different than the US version and Gordon was only on the first season of the UK version. Since the US version was way more popular and mainstream there was every reason in the world to continue it while the UK version only ran for 4 seasons

Marco Pierre Whyte put it perfectly about Hells Kitchen and probably a swipe at the way Ramsay behaves in the kitchen. "It's about the food, but instead it was Gordon shouting and less about the food." Being a chef for many years, seeing Chefs like Ramsay be pricks brings out the worst food, but the calmest head chefs bring out not only the best in the Commis on the pass, but the professionalism also translates to the best dishes.

It’s funny I was actually at Hills kitchen once for a friends birthday and everyone else’s food was either undercooked or just too greasy. Mine was perfect. I kept trying to get Gordon’s attention and he turned on me and before he could turn back around, I turned him around, and I said who cut this he pointed at this lovely young lady, and I said, my dear best thing I had all week. And right before I left, I said Gordon. Don’t you ever take that tone with me again Especially when my cook did nothing wrong
