I have a CD of The Who live in 1970 and in the middle of one song, the vocals drop out then the guitar. The bass and drums continue for a few minutes and then you hear the guitar tuning up before the vocals and guitar come back to finish the song. The story is that Roger Daltrey saw a guy assaulting an old girlfriend of his in the crowd and he jumped off stage to save her. Pete Townshend then jumped off to help Roger kick the guy’s ass with his guitar, which is how it got out of tune. Too bad the show wasn’t filmed, it must’ve looked epic.

Not necessarily stopped but shot a brief "everything ok over there" in between songs followed by a thumbs up from me as I among others was tending to a passed out drunk. I think it's because of his immediate surroundings, including me, immediately tending to him and other surrounding people immediately making space that the band didn't interrupt the concert.

Y’all should’ve used the clip of Green Day’s lead singer literally drop kicking an audience member for s*xually harassing a young female in the crowd. He was told multiple times to stop, but proceeded to become more handsy and belligerent with the young girl. Billie stopped mid performance, asked the ‘man’ if he wanted to fight, backed up a few steps after removing his guitar, proceeded to LAUNCH himself off the stage, and beat the daylights out of that creep. Normally I don’t encourage violence BUT s*x pests/rapists deserve it.

I've never seen anyone save a person like that, but I have two stories from the Dropkick Murphys, and both from the same show. One, there was a guy in a wheelchair crowdsurfing, and from what I saw, the crowd took immense care to get through safely. Second, at the last song (when DK brings fans onstage), someone made a Nazi Salute. Ken Kasey immediately went over, punched the guy, stopping the song, and as the person was ejected, he yelled "Nazis are not welcome at a Dropkick Murphys show!"

Something similar actually happened to me at a Limp Bizkit concert way back in 2000. A crowd surfer kicked me in the back of the head and I hit my head on the barricade in front of the stage. I hit it so hard it caused me to start blacking out. Durst stopped the show and asked the mosh pit to move back so that I could be pulled out by security. It's not just the awesome bands and artists on this list that show how much they care for their fans. Years back during a Three Days Grace show i overheated and felt like i couldn't breathe i managed to get through the crowd thanks to several people noticing something wrong and when i got to the lobby trying to get as much air as i could and trying to calm down, this bartender lady came over and gave me a water bottle and rubbed my back to help me calm down while a tough looking security guy was there in case i needed more help. I was so grateful to them for helping me and when i got back to watch the rest of the show I stayed in the back towards the exit just in case, several people asked if i was alright. Ironically i went down while they were playing "Painkiller"

when I was younger I used to go to a fair share of local bands concerts, most of those guys were never more than a garage band, there are some who had moderate success in my country, but the one thing I remember for each concert I attended was that when some fell in the moshpit, we would all get them back up, no words needed, no signs, nothing but pure honest companionship and enjoyment. People are frequently cooler than we give them credit for... I miss the old sweaty, muddy/dusty, overly-loud punk and metal underground scene... I hope kids these days are having just as much fun as I was back then

I was at a concert years ago where Set it Off, Falling in Reverse and Black Veiled Brides were playing. During Falling in Reverse's set they were tossing t-shirts to the fans. At one point they threw a shirt to a female fan and a guy next to her wanted it so he elbowed he really hard and I think she fell down. The band stopped immediately and looked over at the two. They said the guy was a jerk and made sure that the girl was alright. Luckily she didn't need medical attention and they made sure she got the shirt.

If you don’t mind me asking, did they serve alcohol at the venue Paramore was playing at? Saw her on tour back in 09’, and a bunch of drunk people got into this massive brawl. It started with two couples butting heads and devolved into a free for all after innocent bystanders were hit in the cross fire between said couples. Needless to say she was rightfully FURIOUS. Spent a solid ten minutes scolding them before having security remove the two couples + an individual that was kinda encouraging them to fight. They really should ban alcohol from concert venues if people are going to get belligerent + cause problems while drunk.

@@QrincessQri actually now that you mention it, i saw a lot of people drink that night. The fight broke out on the floor though. I personally wouldn’t bring food or drink if I have no place to sit. Not a band stopping a concert story, but a story about how awesome the audience was. Back during Music as a Weapon ('06) Disturbed was a little over midway through their set. I was standing near the edge of the mosh pit on ground floor. During one of the songs my friend and I started jamming hard and I slammed my face on the back of this girls head and fractured my bridge area. The moment everyone seen my bleeding the entire mosh pit stopped and I was lead out to the medics by a large number of the group yelling at everyone to please make room. I got looked at and decided not to go get checked out further. I went and finished the end of the set in the seats near an exit after explaining what happened. On the way out of the venue a few of the moshers noticed me and checked on how I was. It's awesome to have a community of fans looking out for one another, and I'm still thankful for their assistance to this day.

The main singer asked if the person was okay and the lead singer asked if everyone could give space so the person could get out of the crowd. I don't 100% know what happened because I was in the way back, but the band stopped and tried to speak to the fan and then helped everyone move to the side for this person. People clapped and Mayday continued on with their set. Then during the All Time Low set, Alex thanked everyone for being helpful and asked everyone to keep helping each other so we could all enjoy the concert. And we sure did have an amazing concert.

Tim McGraw saw a woman being harassed and called the guy out. Billie Eilish stopped a concert when a girl collapsed. She told the audience that if we weren't feeling well to step out, get some water, take it easy, and come back in when we felt better. I was there, though it wasn't the Sweden case mentioned in the video. Disturbed stopped the concert mid song when they saw a woman being pushed around in a mosh pit. They even brought her on stage while they told the audience to protect people rather than acting so out of control.

You need to make another part of this countdown. There's more than this.A LOT MORE. Slipknot has saved people more than once at their concerts by the way. A lot more rock artists seem to save fans than people realize.

College acquaintance went to a Beastie Boys show at MSG. She got there early enough to be up front in the “General Admission” section, but wound up with bruises all around her ribs because people were shoving everyone up front into the railing. She refused to be taken out by security (unlike many around her) and started throwing elbows at anyone that shoved her. The band stopped a few times to tell people to back up, but it sounded like a crazy show. I was at an outdoor show when a girl just dropped and had a seizure next to me during a break between bands. Her friend took her away before paramedics came and we all pointed them in the direction they went, but they were both short so we didn’t see what happened to them.

I’ve seen this done so many times at the Vans Warped Tour. What really amazed me was this one time. A guy and his friend noticed this girl almost get trampled and was hit in the face, so he and his friend lifted her up and crowd surfed her towards the front to be noticed by the medical team. The band stopped playing and gave these guys a shout out for doing that.

A similar experience happened to me when I was at a Bts concert in Paris. It was held indoor and both dates they did there, people where fainting in the pit because the arena had sold too many tickets and there was literally no space (the medical crew could barely get too the passed out fans). I can't remember the first 30 minutes of the show because of how hard it was to breathe. Luckily I managed to move and find a spot where it was easier to get air, but you could see people pass out around you. It was terrifying. The band didn't stop while they were performing, but in between songs they told us to keep an eye on each other and watch out for people who weren't feeling well , and they gave out their water bottles to the fans all throughout the show. You could tell they were worried by the way they would sometimes look at the crowd. All in all, there where no serious injuries, but it was super scary.

It doesn't take that much for folks' humanity to shine through. Maybe as a society, we shouldn't lose sight of that...and dare I say, perhaps we should even encourage people to show basic human courtesy and compassion instead of mocking them for it. You know, maybe.... Awesome on every single one of these stars!!!

Dropkick Murphy's at a St. Patrick's Day concert in Des Moines, IA. They were performing after a hockey match so the ice was still cold, but the Wells Fargo Arena, where they were performing had put down mat's for people who had paid for mosh pit tickets. They were large mats, but it was still a small area and people were afraid to slip on the ice so they avoided the edges. Not half way through their opening song, Ken Casey, lead singer, calls for a stop and the lights to come back on. As soon as the lights were on, he climbs down off the stage and helps a little girl who had been pushed down back up and makes sure she's okay. He proceeds to get back on stage and when he gets his mic back he dresses down the pit and gives them mosh pit etiquette training. After he finishes the scolding, the band went right back to playing. They might do some punk rock, but those guys are gentlemen.
