Nah, fam. Jackie had the most character growth in the series. She started as a spoiled, shallow princess from season 1, to learning the value of friendships, family, work, self-love, ambition, and finding what she needed in a relationship. She was still sassy and narcissistic, but she grew so much more than the rest.
@OfftheWallTales2 жыл бұрын
@@thomasj.9686 I almost understand the Jackie hate, because I started off the show disliking her without knowing why. But I was also 16 and couldn't put it into words. Now at 31, I know it's because for the first few seasons, Mila being 3 years younger than any cast member was noticeable and made her feel like an annoying little sister. But man, her character growth! I mean, she went through a similar story as Hyde: one family member went to jail, the other abandoned her. She went from prim and proper, bankrolled by her rich father until she was sharing a room with Donna. Plus, just every relationship showed her changing: she went from caring more about how her boyfriend affected her status, to caring only how he cared for her. I truly believe the best way to see if a character's change is visible is to show a newbie the show. Show someone Jackie in season 1 and then the last season. They might not understand her change, but if they went from seeing her disgusted by "the foreign kid" to understanding he truly loves her, they'd know one happened.

@lordhawkeye2 жыл бұрын
Saying Eric broke up with Donna in itself is an oversimplifying their situation. He thought they were meant to be together. He thought they would get married, have kids and do all the things that couples do until death. He said as much when he offered Donna the promise ring. She did not. So what is the logical course of action here? Put yourself in Eric's shoes in that moment. Say what you want but Donna gave their relationship a killing blow when she turned down his ring like that. At that point Eric ending the relationship was like a doctor giving the time of death.

Coming from someone whose favorite show is Friends, That 70s Show is really underrated

Red is no doubt the best dad and overall great man on TV.

#6 is kind of what I'm going through rn. On the one end I feel like I need to finally leave my folks' place and get a place of my own. On the other, I know I can't leave because my folks still need me, and I don't want to leave until I know that they can take care of themselves financially.

Red and Kitty are awesome parents. It's actually pretty accurate in portraying normal parents. Few shows can do that.

#10, very ironic since Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are married in real life.

That 70s show was especially wonderful for its expert handling of comic-relief. Red gets a heart-attack. Kelso: “Oh! Open your eyes, he’s having an arm-attack!” 🤣 It got serious without ever getting depressing ❤️

Where's the episode where Eric goes to work with his mom and she what she has to cope with everyday.

My favourite is when Red tried to talk Hyde out of moving out because he didn't want a birthday party.

Red being proud of Eric for deciding to leave even without their support was very real and encapsulated the grown of the character perfectly, they show how red do what he does because he cares for his son and kitty expletives tirade was just the cherry on top

And I just went through the emotional roller coaster of watching the entire That 70’s Show in about 12 minutes 😭
@jonahfrimodt4245 Жыл бұрын
If you look deeper, past the melodrama and 70s aesthetic, the main recurring theme of this show is the relationship between parents and older children. The dynamic between Eric and Red is the most important one, and the heartbeat of the series.

Growing up in the late 70s and early 80s as a teen, this show hit home most of the time. If felt real in some ways. Too much drinking, parents partying and kids sneaking alcohol, etc. It made me nostalgic for that time, even though I wouldn't go back if I was paid...lol. Carsey/Werner hit on something and found the magic.

Man. Why can I not find the show anywhere anymore. It was such a brilliant show, I watched it was it was first out, watched it as a stoner, watched it as an adult. The show has always hit differently, brilliant show and one of the best American shows ever

If danny wasn't in jail he would be in that 90s show maybe have a story line where he is a supportive dad & try not to make the same mistakes his parents made with him

Red being a surrogate father always gets me. I had a similar relationship with a really outstanding father figure and it hits hard when I see scenes like this. Just like Uncle Phil and Will.

8:30 this is the sort of behavior that makes me love Red. He's an asshole, but he's an asshole who still has a heart and loves the kids even if he doesnt get touchy feely or articulate his feelings. He's not the dad anyone _wants_ but he's often the dad they _need_

The last scene as well (#1). He understood that the world is a tough place and his biggest priority was to prepare Eric for it.

When Hyde's turned 18 and Red told him about being a man was a great moment!

Weirdly, the strongest part of the new series, was the relationship set up between Red and Sherri from next door. The episode about her seeing her father in him, and him ultimately doing what her father didn’t do for her, was actually well done, and I’m hoping is made a bigger part of the series moving forward. The idea that Red has a chance to right his wrongs with Laurie, through Sherri, and finally have a daughter he’s proud of, could be great.

Everyone in this show was simply amazing, their joy and their pain were real just as if we were there right next to them experiencing it with them. This show will always be my favorite and the best show in my opinion. I laugh with every episode and enjoy it no matter how many times I watch it.
