Bone mealing coarse dirt and gravel? What!? Also, learned exactly how you make those fence gates stagger in height. Good to have you back!

I remember the path around the pirate cave to the lava farm, and the forced perspective you applied there. That kept attention moving forward along the path. This time, attention is directed to the gaps in the trees, anticipating the buildings “coming soon”. Very cool! 👍

Yes!!! 👍🏻 Strategically placed trees and stuff can draw your eye to certain places, so as to make something look bigger, or just more interesting. It’s fun to play around with perspective.

It is lovely when you are done. I might (instead of doing it easy) fill the pond up from the bottom, but then again, I don't like to build over holes either (must fill in the holes!!). I also would leave in the Coral Fans, but I like the underwater colour. I can appreciate the effort of Bonemealing the land, but I mow the lawns and don't like the shaggy look. Flowers are different though. The Custom Trees, then blending into the Vanilla Trees is a cool idea, and it does trick the eye (and brain) into thinking the Wizard's Tower is taller, so I learned that... I don't know that I would use it, but it is effective. You do 'random' block placement very well... I end up with checkerboards. One Idea you could use on the side paths is the Mud Bricks, Dried Mud and Mud (although that always looks too dark to me to go with it's friends) to go with the Path Blocks. And Path Blocks are also not a full block so you could put Torches under them for lighting. Mud Bricks also have Slab and Stair forms to hide more lighting behind/under (I don't think the Dried Mud does, but it has a different texture that looks good for paths). Some people would add in Podzol... I would never, but it is a Minecraft option.

The base looks awesome! Great tip about blending vanilla trees into the background. Not only does it save time but it helps with the overall immersion because you don't have a hard line between custom forest & vanilla zone. You can always play around with the shape/leaves of the vanilla trees to get the look you like and help the custom forest fade into the vanilla one. Thanks for the video Blu - looking forward to the livestream!

😅 well now. I’m only 3 days into my very first Minecraft journey because my 6yo begged me to star playing. I had no clue that torch spam was a thing and that it was bad. My starter base absolutely looks like a prison because I thought the only way to keep mobs out was to make 7 block tall walls around the whole thing and then to line them, the fences around the animals, farm and my house with torches everywhere. Like literally every other block around everything has a torch. I honestly can’t believe how amazing your builds are. I didn’t even know stuff like this was possible in the game but I am sure going to try harder to make things nicer.
