I am struggling to understand how the offer process for foundation pharmacists works in Oriel. What I don’t understand is, let’s say Student A ranked Pharmacy C as their 200th choice and Student B ranked the same pharmacy as their first, and they have close test results (identical, let’s say). Would Student B have leverage over Student A if the 199 programs Student A ranked went to other candidates, or would their 200th choice be considered as their first, giving them the same chance as Student B in being offered a placement in Pharmacy C? I referred to the handbook provided, but it doesn’t answer the question or explain the process sufficiently, and that point is very important to me. Thank you.

Hi. We are unable to comment on the specifics of the Oriel selection and ranking process. We would suggest that you speak to your university or contact NHSE directly for further information about this. You can contact NHSE here: england.traineepharmacist@nhs.net
