As this excellent summary is about five years old, one noteworthy item is that following Typhoon Odette in December 2021, Movenpick Resort on Mactan Island (including its Iboiza Club) was damaged so won't be reopening until 1 September 2022. Could I second Rob's endorsement of the waterfalls in Southern Cebu? They make a lovely day trip from Moalboal (Panagsama Beach or White Beach) using local tricycles and in between, the frequent local Ceres yellow buses. There are various reviews on TripAdvisor that complement and in some cases go a little beyond what 'Finding Paradise' could feature. It's a huge compliment to Rob's compilation of what travellers need to know that has seen 174.918 views in 59 months and three days. Well done. Rob by his efforts is helping Cebu, Bantayan Island and other areas recover from the adverse effect of no or few tourists for two years thanks to government overreach re COVID-19.
@FindingParadise2 жыл бұрын
Let's hope Movenpick come back stronger after all this. It was a nice resort to stay at. Odette was a nasty typhoon. The south of Cebu has plenty of lovely places to visit. I love to get back there one day!

Hi, thank you for the beautiful video, it was really helpful. I'm going to visit the Philippines in September and I'm planning to split my holidays between Cebu and Palawan. Is it possible, in your opinion, to visit in one week both Bantayan Island and the waterfalls in south cebu? They are quite far from the airport and I'm afraid that one week will not be enough. Do you think it's better to rent a car or to use busses to get around cebu? Thank you in advance
@FindingParadise5 жыл бұрын
Hi Lorenzo, It is doable but a bit rushed. Coming from Bantayan by land it would take a good chunk of the day just to get to Cebu City. It would be probably better to do overnight in the city and then go down south. Depending on how much you want to do with the waterfalls. It's possible to do just a day trip to Kawasan Falls. I would hire a taxi, it's a lot quicker for what you want to do.
@lorenzoriccardi9555 жыл бұрын
@@FindingParadise thank you. So, do you suggest to stay in Cebu City once I'm back from Bantayan, and organize few trips from there? Off course, I will not visit all the waterfalls, but at least kawasan and Tumalog...

Great video. I've booked 9 days split across Bantayan and Malapascua next month. Can't wait. From Malapascua, how much should I look to pay for a private boat to Carnaza for the day?
@FindingParadise5 жыл бұрын
I did it a while ago, so I can't remember exactly. I think it was around 2500. I think I did a video on Carnza Island on my Beyondcebu channel which I put a price (I think).
@drmanhattan2255 жыл бұрын
Finding Paradise thanks I watched that (great video btw) but don't recall a price. 2500 is ok though. Just trying to get an idea of how much cash to take to Malapascua as no ATMs on the island.
