I have never seen a young man after puberty, younger than 25 actually be able to overtrain IF they're eating, and sleeping. I am sure it happens, but their recovery capacity is incredible. I've seen them sore, but as far as CNS overtraining.. very rare.

I agree with everything that you say here. My MiLB son is an interesting case however. He’s great on nutrition, baseball training, but he’s quite intuitive with his workouts. Small amount of hill sprints daily as well as plyos. He has a med ball, change of direction, sprint, plyos once a week intense from a legit program. He then does what he feels like in the gym. 4 leg sets, 2 push and pull sets, core 6 days a week. Goes heavy once a week. All basic lifts. That said, he keeps putting on size and beating his personal bests and ranks high in his organization on all testing measures. Go figure.

@@JohannTomasicyk-c9x good stuff. I don’t think it’s a one fits all when it comes to workouts for example if you are a corner then you want to be really powerful but if you are a MIF you probably don’t want to add 30lbs of bulk.

Amen on getting off social media. 10 million guys all sharing different stuff. And much of it seems cyclical over time. Same with "too many coaches." Who does a kid believe?

How do I find a good trainer to split 50% regular muscle building training with 50% continuing baseball training (just for fun -I’m 30 and play in an adult league but we just moved from B-league to A-league and it’s much more competitive). I don’t know many training centers that train 30 year olds - they’re mostly training kids and that’s kinda awkward training next to a grout op 12u players. Is there a website or a certification I should look for with trainers? I

I'm not Summers, but I have a CSCS and a CPT. If you're 30+ and have a real job. Go get an assessment and a program from someone who has a CSCS from the NASC and works with ballplayers. Most of those places you're talking about will do an assessment and program for you no problem. As an adult you are just going to have to pony up for an individual program, and that doesn't come without an assessment. just my $.02
