Jamie-Lee Lockwood I wouldn't say he has done well at his last 3 clubs. You could make a point for his time at AC Millan where his goal scoring record was pretty decent but he was crap for City and Inter. He was described as unmanageable by Mourinho and was barely scoring 1 every 3 games (while playing with the champions). I mean he scored 11 goals in 40 games for an Inter side that won the treble that same season... He scored just 30 at City in 80 games (playing with Champions) and even fewer with Inter in 86 games. Now he is doing even worse at Liverpool with just 2 goals to his name.

Torres is a deserved one in that list, but honestly, that was Chelsea's fault. Anyone who knew Torres also knew he was going to be a flop for that ammount. Torres pretty much killed his top-class career by going to South Africa's world cup when he had just gone through a pretty delicate knee injury which required surgery. Against hte best advice of doctors and professionals he chose to fasten the recovery to make it to the national team and in doing so he crippled himself. He's never been the same as he once was and while it's debatable wether a WC winner trophy in his record was worth it or not for the player (he obviously thought it was), and while he still is a pretty good squad player as he's showing at Atletico, it certainly means that Chelsea wasn't on their right senses by splashing the cash on a player who should've been unable to pass any serious medical check for a fee that high.

Amazed but not surprised by Soldado's inclusion (obviously he was put up the ranking as Poet is a Gooner, who likes to forget how many flops his own team have had) but many Spurs fans do not look at Soldado as an abject failure - he has actually supplied a lot of assists whilst he may have lost his touch infront of goal so he is still providing for the team. Here's a flop for you that you probably forgot: Mesut Ozil. Since joining Arsenal he's been a shadow of his former-self (and don't come to me saying "He's still getting used to the PL" because that same excuse could be levelled at Soldado!). Balotelli should have been in the list as opposed to Soldado - he's missed just as many glaring opportunities to score for Liverpool and is more selfish. At least Soldado realises he's out of form so passes the ball or sets someone else up; Balotelli just shoots on sight because he's still under the impression he's playing for Manchester City and scoring for fun.

Will definitely be seen as biased here as i am a Spurs fan, but i don't see Soldado as a flop. Yes, he doesn't score much, yes he does miss some sitters and yes, i don't believe he is, or even was, worth £26 mil. But his work ethic is second to none, he grabs a lot of assists and he never stops running. He plays with heart which is something you can't say about Adebayor and he continues to fight for his place no matter what. It's just a shame some football fans can't see that.

The Carroll transfer is not as bad as it's always touted, well at least not for Liverpool. Supposedly when Chelsea offered for Torres Liverpool said the price was whatever Newcastle would accept for Carroll plus £15m. So to Liverpool there's nothing negative here on the price, although you can argue about whether he was the right man for their team. So really it's more about Newcastle fleecing Chelsea with Liverpool as the middlemen!

Bebe sure but the others aren't what I'd consider flops. Buttner was thought to have been bought for no more than £3.9m. You expect much from a £3.9m player? Nani was fantastic for United throughout 2009-2012 and was even for the shortlist for the 2011 Balon d'Or. He scored on a regular basis while picking up plenty of assists (most in 2010/2011 season) accumulating 24 in the Prem over his two last seasons in form. Even before 2009 he was a good player however overshadowed by Ronaldo. Was a class act to watch. Obviously his form dipped but for £19m, we got at least 4 great seasons out of him in which he helped United win everything at club level... I guess you could make the argument for Ashley Young being a flop. He didn't cost an awful amount and his first season was solid. This season he has been decent also but other than that he has been awful.
