Another product that is vitally needed is 18" doll clothes. The companies that sell doll clothes charge a fortune and most people can't afford them. Homemade doll clothes are prettier and more what girls want. Also, doll accessories. Purses, totes, jewelry, hair ribbons and hats and etc.
@CreativeHiveCo2 жыл бұрын
Those are great additions Katie!! Thank you so much for sharing!! ❤️❤️
@dh55492 жыл бұрын
Handmade doll clothes will be expensive and not cheaper than what is already massed produced from China. Doll accessories included. Exactly what price point is considered affordable? Most people can afford what is available out there.
@pamwaldron25662 жыл бұрын
If you want inexpensive doll clothes, learn to sew/knit/crochet and make your own.. it will cost you time and materials. Doing this will teach you a few things. Making small sized items takes longer than human sized, materials can get expensive, and hand made crafters need to make a living, so spending 2+ hours making an 18 inch doll outfit, then selling it for less than materials cost and no compensation for time spent won't work.

@@CreativeHiveCo thanks for the reply. I've tried to advertise to people who like to go to festivals and people who like bohemian style jewelry. Not sure who else would like my stuff 😆🤷♀️ I've also reached out to people to see if they would like a free piece to model and give me some exposure, alas no one is interested. Some of my pieces aren't cheap but I also have a wide variety and prices can range from $8 to $300 because macrame is time consuming. The IG ads are also a waste of time. Sometimes there is a glitch and it will say my post reached 0 people over the span of a few days and yet they still charge me. So I'm not going to waste time and money on ads. I feel like I'm on a the titanic trying to rearrange the deck chairs and the ship is still sinking 😂 I think a huge part of the problem is I don't post often enough for the algorithm to pick up my posts. But also how do I post multiple times a week when I work 40 hours a week at a hospital and it takes an entire weekend to finish a piece. Maybe I'll have better luck on tiktok...

As a young girl I had a sweet tooth like every other youngster. I went to purchase a lot of sweets, I was surprised when the seller said that's the actual cost of a whole packet of sweets and I got a packet of sweets 72 in total. I was expecting to buy 24 sweets for my one shilling ...at retail cost. Now I had thee times the number. I got a small tray emptied my pack of sweets and walked far away from the neighbourhood selling sweets. I sold every one and now my craving for sweet was reduced I wanted to make money instead. I did this sweet rounds every saturday for months. In those days children went out to play and there was no worry for parents. So long story short I just make little things as gifts and then a large number of people ask to purchase. Hand made products are really a lifeline. I make pot hangers with old socks and if anyone wanted one I used new socks.I enjoyed your video and I'm subbed ..why not.

@CreativeHiveCo2 жыл бұрын
Hi! It depends. If the crochet pattern is available/free to use commercially (i.e. with consent from the designer), that's totally fine. Otherwise, I think it's not a smart idea to kind of resell them. If unsure, you can always ask the designer. I know of some people who are PROUD of the term gypsy and there is also a reality show called "Big Fat Gypsy Wedding", these people ARE gypsies and proud of it. So, who is this Kaiodi Whiner to say that actual gypsies are all "offended". Never apologize for anything that was not done on purpose or to be mean. IGNORE people like this, you're too kind to apologize to it.

Is it a bad idea to have more than one product for sale on your page?

Hi Bevie! It's actually a great idea to give your customers options. Just make sure though that you don't get too overboard and give them too many options at once. It's also really important to have your product line cohesive.

Hi please do NOT misinform people with handmade products, because I make and sell mostly handmade products and it does not sell. From jewelry, art to toys, knitting, and crochet products. So if you can let us know where your handmade products sell, that will help a lot. Thank you

Hi Jen! I sell on my own website at tinyhandsonline.com. I also have a shop on Etsy but I just have it set on autopilot and use their built-in traffic to find me.

Handmade very much DOES sell, but you have to find the right product, develop a professional brand and get a social media strategy.

Love the ideas, but FYI gypsy is a slur! A lot of people in the west don’t know that but it’s actually a not-so-kind word for people from Romania and has a lot of negative historical connotations.
