Everytime I shined hunt I get a fairly large combo 15-21 then the Pokémon run away before I can go to 30 :(

There is a way to avoid this issue. You need to memorize the run animation for the Pokémon you are doing a combo on. Each Pokémon has a unique run animation which indicates it will flee shortly. If you see that animation you have to run away to preserve your combo. You can find the run animation in the Pokedex under the animations area. Once you memorize it you'll never lose a combo again. This tip helped me during my shiny living dex series a lot.

I got a shiny snorlax through a catch Combo of bulbasaurs by accident

Getting snorlax with a catch combo of anything other than snorlax is the actual method to get snorlax so you did it the same way everyone else did basically. The sad thing is getting shiny bulbasaur with a combo of bulbasaur is massively harder than getting shiny bulbasaur with a combo of anything other than bulbasaur. It has to do with the spawn mechanic of some rare spawns.
