I've been singing for about 20 years, still have tremendous stage fright, and the thing I do especially when I'm alone on a stage say like during karaoke is I keep a hand in my pocket. Dunno why, but it is a comfort, and I recognized it with him that he's probably really nervous too.

Wim always gets me, I wouldn’t say that his voice is unbelievably deep but it’s just so impressive and effortless, such a beautiful voice yet he’s barely even moving the whole time, hand in his pocket.. you can tell it comes naturally for him, it’s wonderful every time. Stereotype must be broken. Singing low notes is equally tough. High notes can be harsh on ur ears and also can damage your vocal chords so many times but lower notes r always soothing to listen

Lower tones are even harder . As someone who sings I can say that you can use your belly and head to create high tones but only an insane amount of talent coupled with practice can create those kind of low tones

@@asedanyaho8280 tbh I have a pretty low voice, like to the point where I can feel my chest vibrate. The problem with it is even talking for a long period of time can start to be harsh on my throat. Like I'll be talking on a night and my voice will start to deepen and get croaky to the point of it hurts my throat. Like this is just general talking as well, let alone singing.

@@_k3586 I mean, I can understand that perspective, but honestly it seems more confidence than cockiness, and for good reason, he's very good at singing. Though I think the nonchalance he's portraying is just his personality, might be just how he is or how he deals with stage performances(not assuming anything). I guess he could come off as a bit too uncaring about it but he's at least been singing for 30 or more years, he knows he sounds good, might be a cover for any nervousness he has for the show, but I don't think he's that worried about not doing good, yknow? Mendeleyev is not low at all. He just has a deep sounding texture to his voice, but even his low notes are not really low. Super interesting to hear a baritone with that cool deep voice.

I am an Oktavist/basso profundo, which is the rarest of all voice types. Have a lot of respect for bass-baritone, since they fill a niche of being able to cover upper bass, baritone, and low tenor -- very versatile voice type.
