The thing on horrifying realization is that commit effect makes them discard an attack far more often than you’d think, and a botans that says they discard an attack is far stronger than just a discard 1 draw 1. It’s also a form make walk the dog cheaper if it’s your only attack

On Sacrifice For The Cause, does it actually prevent stuff that "changes" or "swaps" damage like Broken Psyche and Spooky? I think reduce has to say specifically "-X damage" to be considered a reduction. Would love clarification on that.

"Bonus" and "Penalty" are specially defined terms that mean +X or -X. Increase and reduce are just plain English. If number goes up, it's an increase. If number goes down it's a reduction.

It wouldn’t work if it said “penalty”, but since it says “reduce” it should work on swaps. That’s my understanding at least

I think you undersell horrifying. The added ability of they commit or discard an attack is a big deal. And its a 1 diff thats gonna be played in any chaos character. Being able to form loot them before revealing an attack, being a walk the dog symbol with a card that can stun them before your turn starts. Its doing alot for a spam foundation
