A coworker and I were reminiscing about Taco Bell yesterday. We loved the old mission looking restaurants from the 80s and 90s with the stucco exteriors.

Taco bell was next to a Mexican restaurant called mitlas cafe. It is still there to this day and the old taco bell building is owned by a Mexican fast food restaurant called Amapolas Rico tacos. Bell kept asking the owner how to make tacos because he like how they tasted , after constantly bugging them ,the mitla cafe helped him and soon after that he started making tacos at his stand.

I worked at Pizza Hut in the 90''s as a teenager. One day I was given our order forms so I could make a delivery order. To my suprise it was not our typical Pizza Hut order form, it was a PepsiCo order form, and it had all item from every restaurant that Pepsi owns, like Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and others. So if you make purchases from most fast food restaurants, and purchase Pepsi products. Imagine how much money Pepsi Co. actually bring in over all, and that is from what I am aware of, and what I am not. Any million dollar idea that does not pan out for them on any brand, is no significant loss. They are a multi billion dollar international corporation. And a million, is like you losing a dollar, it sucks, but not a big deal, caulk it up as a loss, and move on. They do not miss a step.

Actually for several years in the 1980's you could get PIZZA HUT, KFC, and TACO BELL all under one roof. Since I ate at a TACO BELL for lunch, I could also choose from a limited selection of PIZZA HUT and KFC items at that Taco Bell location. This was just after PEPSI CO. bought PIZZA HUT from COCA-COLA, if I recall correctly. Living in California, JACK IN THE BOX's variety of fast food items served as the impetus for the successful Pepsi experiment. Currently there are what's called TRICON'S PIZZA HUT, KFC, and TACO BELL EXPRESS in various military base cafeterias, and the like.

Nowadays after they sorta get your order right'ish...most Taco Bells give you a teaspoon of "meat", mostly lettuce and two pieces of shredded cheese on a broken shell. Finding a good Taco Bell is too rare.

I have many fond memories of visiting Taco Bell as a child in the 80s, especially one of two that we passed on our annual summer trip from Maryland (and eventually New Jersey) to Virginia. 30 or so years later, I still make it a point to stop by one of the locations from my childhood or a new one on the route. I especially remember cinnamon twists and Choco Tacos :)

Taco Bell was the go to when I was in HS. Even if you didn't have money you could bum enough change from people ahead of you to grab a bean burrito or pintos and cheese. Best hidden menu: 10in flour, 3 cheese and pico, steamed twice; a giant vegetarian mexi-melt. If the person on the till rang it up as all extras they were $0.75 in the 90's.

Idk about you guys, but Ive never had problems after eating Taco Bell. Maybe that's why me and many other people like it more than others. Especially if the only problem is the shits... If anything, I have problems when they stuff my burrito with nothing, but chips and made me pay $2.89 for it... You mean next to broke, and Del Taco is still a better deal. TB has a few decent value menu items though. When you mostly deal in EBT, very little food is worth paying actual money for. Pasta is NEVER worth buying. Pizza is, store items can't substitute the real thing. Mongolian Stir Fry, KFC origin recipe, Filibertos, burgers kind of, but you can make good ones at home.

In Sweden we really love tacos. Every grocery store got a taco section, and i mean REALLY everyone. It's mostly american style, though we don't got a single taco bell in the whole country. I've never seen nor heard about one, there are no fast food resturants serving it. No resturants in general, I don't understand why.
