Even though 2023 was one of the best ever years for gaming, I wouldn't say it was one of the best for easter eggs. Despite that, from Fortnite to Cyberpunk, there were some really cool secrets hidden within games that I wanted to show you!

*Sorry it's late! I wanted to wait until the year finished. Thankfully it paid off because one of my Top 10 only came out a week ago!* 2023 was one of the best ever years for gaming, but if I'm honest... not one of the best for easter eggs. pretty much every fish in the ULTRAKILL fishing level is a reference to another piece of media, but you also get the Cooked Fish by throwing them on the fire in the level. When the level came out, the ULTRAKILL wiki was filled with notes cataloging what each fish was a reference to. Since Cooked Fish was the odd one out, it had a bunch of notes saying things like "Cooked Fish is a reference to the real life practice of human beings cooking food". Other great wiki notes include the fact that, since this level and all others with fish are in the Wrath layer, that means every fish that has gone to hell somehow committed the sin of wrath.

I would like to see easter eggs to animated series in video games (SpongeBob, The Fairly OddParents, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Phineas and Ferb, Gravity Falls, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Adventure Time, Regular Show, The Amazing World of Gumball, The Simpsons, Futurama, Disenchantment, Family Guy, American Dad!, The Cleveland Show, South Park, BoJack Horseman, Big Mouth, and many more).

For the RE4 remake one, there are two golden eggs. That one is for a request, but there is a second one found in Salazar's throne room. The request to egg Salazar's painting is actually suppose to be a hint to use the golden egg on him.

I spoke a bit about my feelings towards KZbin on my Patreon recently, but the abridged version is that the pitfalls of this 'dream job' are starting to hit me. These pitfalls (burnout, anxiety, etc) are creeping in and I think the best way to stop them is distancing myself from the platform. I have no plans on leaving, but I predict I'll start to slow down more this year. I still enjoy making videos, and am looking forward to making them for years to come!

So I’ve been watching Guru’s videos for a few years now. I specifically remember a few years ago thanking him for putting jump scare warnings in video just in case they weren’t people’s thing. There was this one guy who was looking for all of those comments and replying to them calling everyone a p*say for not being able to handle jump scares. I’m comin back again to another guru video years later to say, thanks for always warning us. Some people hate them so it’s nice to see them coming and still enjoy the video!

They recently updated the game with a ton of easter eggs. I don't think they're as good or memorable as the first game, but there's still some cool stuff in there. The update was so recent that it's possible we haven't found the best ones yet.
