I agree and without Russell saving Parvati she wouldn't have made it to the end and the only reason Sandra made it to the end with him was because Russell thought she was a non threat and the jury would see she didn't deserve to win. I thought he was right and the jury robbed him.

The Rob and Lex move was rough, but I actually thought it was poetic justice.. Lex had had the exact conversation with Ethan earlier in AS1. It seemed harsher because of how much further along the game was, but Lex and Ethan were good friends that played together before. IDK, I kinda enjoyed seeing Lex get the same thing back.

The difference was Lex changed his game play to do Rob a personal favour and Rob stabbed him in the back immediately afterwards. Lex thought he could have won the whole thing, and he probably could have.

Ciera's move was not strategic in practice though. Her mom was going home no matter what, and Tyson was fully prepared to spare her the ordeal of voting for her mom. She could have thrown a vote at Tyson and he wouldn't have minded under the circumstances. It did very little to solidify her position in Tyson's alliance.

Not to mention the fact that Ciera is one of the nicest people in the history of Survivor. She doesn't hold grudges and has a heart full of love. You need to interview Ciera. Backstory on Rob vs Lex. Rob, Lex, Kathy and Big Tom were all close friends. Lex and Tom were buddies and allies from Africa, Rob and Kathy were buddies from Marquesas. They didn't just say "hi" once a year at charity events, they were friends. To this day, Lex and Big Tom (and Ethan) are tight friends. So All-Stars comes along and it's the first of its kind. There has never been a reality competition like this where the players have pre-existing relationships. Nobody, except Boston Rob and Richard Hatch, realizes that it's going to be a bloodbath. Survivor is emotionally intense when played between strangers, especially at that time when alliances were defined by friendships. People who didn't like each other didn't form alliances until Cesternino changed the game in Amazon, which was a very recent season (it finished airing just six months before All-Stars filmed). So the mood of Survivor at the time is you're aligned with your friends and your friends are your allies. Going into All-Stars, Rob, Lex, Kathy and Tom make the first pre-game alliance in the history of reality competition. Again, all of this is unprecedented. They have an agreement that, as they'll likely be on separate tribes, they'll tear down the big threats on their tribes and take over the merge. Divide and conquer. The game starts and Rob and Tom end up on Chapera while Lex and Kathy are on Mogo Mogo. Perfect. Rob rips Cesternino out of the game right away. Lex takes out Hatch, Colby and Ethan. All of them are good people to have around as shields but it's the Ethan boot that's really revealing, because Ethan is his friend and former ally. Ethan swapping onto Lex's tribe was a huge boon for his game. But nope, Lex had this alliance with Rob and Ethan was a threat who needed to go. It's a very uncomfortable boot. Like I said, everyone involved was naive. Then Amber swaps onto Lex's tribe. Lex again has a choice to make. Does he take out Amber or does he honor his agreement, based on friendship, with Rob? He honors it and votes out Jerri. Merge time comes and Lex and Rob finally get to talk. What Lex doesn't realize is that due to the way the tribes broke down, Rob ended up on a tribe full of weaker players while Lex ended up with all the killers. So Rob has ended up with a group that's pretty easy to manage, whereas Lex and Kathy are both established killers from their own seasons. Rob makes the decision to renege on his deal with Lex and Kathy. He doesn't want to get to the end with sharks, he wants to get there with tuna. It's ugly and horrible. And it really doesn't help that Rob actually mocks his friends in confessional. Just being a dick for the sake of it, insulting his buddies. That's where the bitterness comes from. Lex and Kathy could have had a great thing going with Mogo Mogo. Lex and Kathy could have dumped Shii-Ann, Jerri and Amber and gone into the merge up in numbers with a pack of killers and cut Rob's throat. But they didn't, because they trusted their friend. And CBS didn't want the audience to see any of this backstory, they wanted to pretend the competition was pure. After All-Stars the Survivor alumni became much more distant. Subsequent All-Stars seasons had a very strict "it's nothing personal, it's just a game" attitude in place. And Lex, Kathy and Tom have had nothing to do with Rob since All Stars aired.

In practice, what makes Rob voting out Lex at the merge in return for saving Amber different from you voting out JT at the merge in return for him giving you his idol? Actually curious Also I’m pretty sure I read a post from Varner saying that he’s done with survivor because of the subsequent trauma he experienced after that incident with him outing Zeke.

LOL seriously? For one, Russell was a complete unknown to the other players at that time (his previous season hadn't even aired yet). He had never met J.T., they had no relationship, and JT's "strategy" was completely misguided. On the other hand, Rob and Lex had been friends outside the show for several years, and Rob called in a special favor, using their friendship as collateral. COMPLETELY different situation.

I know someone who knows Shannon personally too, and he said that Shannon acts exactly the same in real life as he did on Survivor. Some people just suck.

I enjoy these regular vids , im glad i learned to seperate game moves from actual personality , man id of missed out on so many good russ videos if i wouldnt of looked past the villain wdit 😩🤣
