But Penaud is unmatched in terms of raw attacking abilities. Escaped 75% of the tackles attempted on him in 2023, and averages 1 try per game since Galthié took over. They’re both the best, depends on what criterion. But Kolbe was average at Toulon and had a poor season in Japan, he’s an amazing player but playing with the best forward pack in the world makes your life much easier

Never thought I'd see 2 Argentinian wingers on a list like this based on their history. 3 South Africans in the top 10 makes me proud. Some might not want to put Penaud at the top but I don't think there's much between the top few. I'd have James Lowe and Will Jordan higher up on the list, 3rd and 4th.

It surprises me that Duhan van der Merwe is even on this list. Two tries scored by Telea against Scotland and both because of Duhan leaving the gap on the outside - he is so bad that he is responsible for almost as many tries against Scotland as he has scored for them.

So in the spirit of having a bit of fun, let's say we replace Duhan and let's say we need to give the North a bit more leeway... Mack Hansen or Josh Adams. Even Darcy Graham and Kyle Steyn are better than Duhan in my humble opinion - just as good with ball in hand even if they don't have the same brute strength, not as selfish with the ball and both good defenders.

Sevu Reece is number 1. He just does way more off the ball stuff than any other wing in the world. He was the only reason NZ won that game against England yesterday. He scored a try, a 50/20, tackled and took high high balls PERFECTLY and got the decisive turnover in the match. He's easily the best winger in the world with the best alround skillset and daylight second. Jordan scores tries thats it he does nothing else. Talea is top 10 just from his carrying ability and clark behind him. So again this list is by someone that only watches northern hemisphere rugby.
