Arike is great but I agree she has been overrated. She’s the perfect example of how stats can sometimes lie. I thought there would be a 4 way MVP race…but the way Aja is playing makes it impossible to vote for anyone else.

@@maxpower247 Agreed, Arike is very talented, but her shot selection and overall basketball IQ seems to be sorely lacking in some ways. I was honestly expecting Stewie to have the type of season Aja is after that lack luster finals series, but I'm super happy for Aja's success.

Arike is gonna be Arike. It would help if she got easier looks. Spot up jumpers, curls, back door cuts and corner 3's. Plus she needs to let Maddy takeover portions of the game and play decoy

I didn’t leave her off the list because she’s ask to shoot more. I left her off because she has one of the worst field goal percentages in the league. If you’re going to have a high volume type game, the efficiency needs to justify it. Arike needs to trust her teammates more. There were multiple games this season where someone else had the hot hand but she still shot 25+ times and they end up losing.

@@maxpower247 Arike Teammates don't shoot the ball much, they usually just pass it back to Arike. if you pass the ball back and the clock is running down most of the time you almost have to shoot it. Dallas needs a lot of help.

Sabrina can't hold a candle to Jackie Young's natural talent and defensive ability, however she's made a much better transition to full-time point guard and has a higher floor from game to game.

No mention of Caitlin in the top ten? Obviously this video didn’t age very well. Actually, it is quite funny that Time Magazine named Clark Athlete of the Year (male/female, any sport and international as well). The AP named Caitlin Female Athlete of the Year (any sport but just female sports). Caitlin was voted 4th for League MVP and 4th for the all WNBA first team (last time a rookie made first team was in 2008). As far as exciting basketball goes, Caitlin is in a league of her own. Even when you did this video, Caitlin was filling 17,000 plus courts, most jersey sales, and unprecedented views for her televised games. Top vote getter for the all star team. Most assists in a season in WNBA history. Most 3pt shots in 2024. She broke a full 62 records (2x3 triple doubles, 19 assists in a single game, etc) which is also a record. Conclusion: This analysis without Caitlin Clark was just a bad joke.

There is only one super skilled tactical genius in the league and her name is Caitlyn Clark. If you don't know that by now it is because either you have not watched her elevate the play of her team or you don't know basketball. This is not the same Fever that began the season. She took Iowa to the finals the last two years and she will do the same with the Fever. The only team that can hang is the Liberty and she has already beat them once. Time for a mid season update.
