It's a good thing the the original Contra on NES wasn't made, on playstation, when trophies started, cause beating it with only 3 lives would be on this list for sure. I'm sure people have done it, but it was the hardest game i tried playing when it was originally released so long ago.

As a proud owner of the XCOM2 plat... You don't need to play the entire game with 4 soldiers gor The Few and the Proud, just reload a save before the final mission and demolish the GTS, the building that allows you to purchase squad size upgrades.

Great list loved it. I love how you included actually hard games not just games that have rare platinums but are easy just grindy. although you missed one of the hardest platinums. Trackmania shouldn’t be on there. You missed assetto corsa. It’s a sim racer 0.26 percent the hot laps are absolutely brutal. Also nba2k games are super rare and ridiculous some of them. They don’t make any list because there a sports game so it’s all good

Some trophies are just insane. One of the hardest games for me has to be Wipeout HD. To this day it is the only game I have played that I have been unable to platinum...for now 😅

I got the xcom 2 in 113h. I had to restart 3-4 runs and even lost 1 after 15h in. It was a hell of a grind but I managed to get it in 3,5 playthoughs.

im actually trying to go for crypt of the necrodancer as my 100th Platinum, im currently around 35 (just began trophy hunting this year) but its a challenge i like and im sure i can do with enough patience

Fun video and I'm going to offer some friendly critiques. First up, I find it odd why there are any 9/10s even mentioned? There's more than enough 10s out there to make up your top 10 (plenty across a wide variety of genres and styles to keep the video interesting if that's a concern) First up, you mentioned a few fighting games and feel like potentially none of those would even make a top hardest fighting game platinums list (let alone an all out top 10). Injustice especially being ranked so high is criminal, it's by far the easiest game on this list of yours and truthfully is maybe 6/10 at most. It has a really rare trophy %age because of PS+. There's a lot of super rarer trophies in that game that take almost no time at all (like, use all the stage intractables, do all basic moves of every character etc.) and that helps demonstrate just how inflated the rarity is. Generally fighting games are a misunderstood genre of platinums to onlookers who haven't tried going for them as most are grinds (usually every character and mode) rather than difficulty and the two places where difficulty usually lies (online play and combo trials) can be exploited via boosting methods and pause scumming trials. As a potential recommendation for the fighting genre though maybe give a look into Kohime Enbu Ryo Rai Rai, it's less cheeseable and pretty tough. Super Meat Boy is always a classic mention, I get it and it's got a notorious rep so I feel like people feel the need to have to include it but if we were to look for other notable games in the platforming genre there's, say, Splasher which is almost universally agreed to be more difficult by those who have both, yet Splasher usually clocks in as an 8 or 9/10, by that logic SMB can't really hold onto that 10 and to be honest it really doesn't live up to its hype hence why it's been plummeting in rarity jn recent years with thousands of new achievers. It's sequel SMB Forever is also significantly more difficult than the first and would probably be a more suitable replacement in a list like this if you feel SMB needs to be represented somehow. ESO and Diablo are grinds, not difficulty related, and you seemed to suggest time was not what this list was about so... they probably shouldn't be here either. Diablo moreso, as ESO whilst mostly grind and not 'skill' as such, the Emporer is still a super annoying faff. XCOM 2 can be save scummed to such an extent that apparently you can even stop the enemy from having turns entirely making it nowhere near as difficult as it could potentially be otherwise. If done legitimately it still doesn't really hold up in any kind of 'hardest of all time' type line-up I don't know for sure how they compare, but I always hear Assetto Corsa makes GT5 look like babies first sim racing plat so that would probably be a replacement option for a list like this for the racing genre. Heard plenty about GT5 too though, it's not a genre I'm familiar with enough to comment, maybe they're both worthy, maybe neither are. IDK lol A genre that's always seriously under-represented on lists like these though is SHMUPs... even some of the 'not so hard' ones like Ikaruga get the 10/10 treatment from even those who tend to underrate the ratings for other games, let alone some of the super insane ones out there. In fact, if you explore some the unachieved SHMUP platinums (that as far as we know aren't unobtainable) they even beat out Crypt. There's people with decades of experience in the genre who still haven't managed to clock some of those insane score requirements or highest difficulty 1ccs in some of those games despite pouring hundreds of hours into them. I know for sure I won't be one of them, more likely to 100% Crypt... 😅

Yah, does seem a tad rushed research and random with some of the choices. But, having got clickbaited by a few videos of this type before its better than probably 90% of those. I've seen multiple include Bloodborne 😅 (the 7th most achieved platinum on PlayStation lol)
