I’m giving my opinion and timecodes to this cinematic masterpiece. 2:18 (Number 10) - The moment I heard the word country, I expected Marshmello and “Miles On It” to pop up. 4:35 (#9) - Never heard this before, probably because I'm not a Monstercat listener. But even if I were, I would have forgotten this as a knockoff MEDUZA track. 7:09 (#8) - I forgot “We have Avicii at home” was a thing this year too. 8:56 (#7) - Darn, I just mentioned MEDUZA two paragraph ago! This sounds an awful lot like “Friends” (#10 worst track of 2023), so it’s shocking they went “Wanna hear it again”? 11:15 (#6) - This sounds like a filler track for a concert, an ID that deserved to stay as an unreleased ID. 13:22 (#5) - Fun fact: this is rated 1/100 on AOTY, a ridiculously low user rating IMO, but it’s still a baffling cover. I have a theory Tiësto wanted another Eminem cover after "Not So Bad" last year and Gabry Ponte was like “Oki doki!” And second fun fact: this was initially a Tiësto and Gabry Ponte collab, then DV&LM wanted to join them, the track’s release got delayed, and when it dropped, the track barely changed. 15:27 (#4) - …Now that you told me what it means, I dislike this song even more. 17:37 (#3) - I wanted to say more about this track, but you summed up everything I wanted to say about this song. Not funny, didn’t laugh. 18:55 (#2) - YEEEEEES! I’ve never been more excited to hear a specific single on your “worst songs” list in my life! This is an absolute trainwreck of a track, almost masterfully so. It’s so awful, I actually almost like it! It’s like Timmy and Bassjackers tried to make the worst track in 2024, and they almost did it! I found this track hilarious, unlike... 21:59 (#1) - So bad, the one song with the “Numa Numa” interpolation doesn’t even get more than ten seconds of screentime in this video, a video showcasing the worst of EDM in 2024.
@FlipDaMushroom0215 күн бұрын
The only probable reason why DVLM ended up being on Mockingbird was because they also did another remake (possibly with co-production from Bassjackers) of the same exact song that was premiered at Tomorrowland Winter 2024. Then some behind-the-scenes stuff was worked out to add their names based on that fact, which delayed the Tiësto/Gabry Ponte version. It genuinely does display the opportunist hackery of DVLM to the fullest extent.

@@jn2787 right! again, i think that's the "how and why" thing. cloudcage covers "language" out of love for the track and to recontextualize its emotion in a new way. david guetta pays a bunch of money to cover "i'm blue" so he can capitalize off of an already successful melody without having to take creative risks. sampling is great. covers are great. but the top 1% of producers paying labels to re-use others' melodies just to get a guaranteed hit without having to invent good new ideas? i don't wanna keep hearing it.

KSHMRs Take Me Home Remix might not be everyones cup of tea, but I might just be an outlier who actually likes it. KSHMR did a private US roadtrip with a few friends of his and a rented van, so maybe that was the reason why he made the track. Saying that KSHMR should ONLY do his typical indian style EDM kills the whole creative freedom that most artists want and definitely should have. He is born and raised in the US after all. But nonetheless, great video and I cannot agree more to wish a quick end to this techno craze, it's getting boooooring (And Timmy Trumpet really fell, holy shit)

Tore Number 1 to shreds perfectly. I'm still impressed by that song just having every single possible thing that's wrong with modern EDM, all combined into a very short mp3 file. I could also destroy the likes of the iPad Brothers or that Australian trumpet playing guy that's somehow a "DJ" for releasing pure unoriginal festival trash (or the cake thrower, but he's somehow less egregious by a significant margin), but the french madman was able to accomplish what I thought was impossible...

no need to touch Uptempo Hardcore from Lil Texas and put it into a list where you actually tier EDM tracks in a very serious tone. His music is not meant to be taken seriously. How long ago has David Guetta put out a song on his own? Or even produced a song on his own? That has been a litteral decade if not more: he always has some good or bad co-/ghostproducers. David Guetta is just a perfect industry and networking guy, nothing more or less.

What song did he produce on his own? I dont think he ever has. The guy was a club owner in the 90's and had daft punk djing at his clubs before they blew up, he is well connected and is just a frontman/manager. Pretty sure daddys groove said they were permanent producers for him along with a team of others.

Honestly, commercial EDM is a joke. Lots of songs on here that are under 150 seconds. Here's the thing, if a song is under 150 seconds, it's not a complete song. It's more of a W.I.P. Some of these songs could've actually been good if the artists took their time to expand them into full length tracks.

There's no such thing as EDM. Dance music by its very definition is electronic!! Americans weren't remotely interested in dance music until rappers started making it in the 00s and then they decided it was some 'new' thing and gave it a label it doesn't need.

What the hell is this... I think the baby cry is the representation of my ears listening to this 3. 1/10 - this made me laugh so fking hard and that's why it's not a 0/10, idk why I find the Gabber version kinda fun though, this is just a full-on joke 2. 2/10 - The drops aren't terrible but everything else sucks, this isn't classical... 1. 0/10 - Apart from the Ryos one, all versions suck... Their album this year wasn’t too bad in my opinion! Honestly some of their better work in the last 5 years

I'm confused, these songs just sounds like a generic modern EDM? If anything they're plain boring but I don't think they're worth even making a video.

Vikkstar as a producer haha, please dont stop. I think only beat he can make is 4x4 drums on fl studio. Pro is just milking with his name. I cant see any producer inside Vik.

I'm sorry, but #9 hate is so forced. There's no mention of Alan Walker when both of them have similar styles and released similar stuff on the label this year. I have to call it when I see it and it bias towards the name on the artist instead of the tracks themselves. There were a lot worst tracks on the label this year.

Nah, you got it backwards. I would typically have a more negative bias towards Alan Walker and I thought his Monstercat EP was fine (although some other singles weren’t great), and I would really like Vikkstar to succeed because of the history we have. And I do believe Know Me Better was the wordy song on Monstercat in 2024
