I think the worst kinds of fill-in memes I’ve seen in recent memory are the “X Character Accepts Y Character’s Apology”. They’re all practically the exact same thing and they’ve spread to practically every fandom like a virus.

I agree with most of the fill-in memes that were repetitive and milking dry for attention (especially Drake's and Shrek's memes and Velma 2023 hate memes). And let's face it. While some non-reaction memes can be creative for opinion and all, some of them like "Controversy memes" and "Nice & Naughty List (YEAR) memes" (mostly the latter's case), people take it way too seriously and act like they are the spawn of satan they hate. Like, I have seen people use opinions as facts to expect them to have the same opinion as them when they treat their precious character like it's the second or third coming of Jesus and spawn of satan they hate. And it's not just the problem with What if a character or real people never born, but also goes far as place what if people or characters they hate die (mainly David Zaslav). Also, in my experience of fill-in memes, I used to like fill-in memes, but not anymore, with the small exception of the top 10 that don't involve deserve worst or anything generic, I Ship it memes and even voice actor ocs. And recast memes make little to no sense to convince them they have something in common or traits based on series, movies, or any media. It's unfortunate fill-in memes have gotten popular hence no one cares about art anymore in favor of spammy "memes" and created ripoff memes for the sake of popularity and low-effort memes. Nonetheless, great list and video.

@@TrainNinja21 Fill-in Memes is also more of copyright Infringement than even both Fanarts and Fanfics that are drawn and written from scratch, so they got banned in most non-Deviantart art sites(unless using pictures that their users drawn from scratch) update: I deactivated my deviantart for better or worse

Hey, I used to do them as well. I still have the templates In my Deviantart scraps, but most of them had me uncredited the original creators, causing to get a copyright strike for one of them, just for context, it was the “someone drops at squidwards house one” in which I made three of them, and the first one (Which aged poorly because I lost interest of Goanimate, well, not completely) was the one that was copyright striked. Edit: I never took part in any of those memes, but I did take part in “Minions don’t Want (Blank) Anymore”, I have to say, the example for that meme template aged poorly, just because it made fun of Cartoon Network’s most hated show on Deviantart: “Teen Titans Go!” I had to redo my version of that fill in meme, just because of the copyright strikes, and I had to credit the original creator. I mostly rethemed it to the best and worst transformations in my opinion. (I’m a transformation artist BTW), for one of the worst transformations: I actually chose what I considered “the worst Transformation ever” in the first worst spot. (It turned out to be the parade scene From The 2006 Anime Movie “Paprika”)

I hate fill-in memes so much it almost feels like the Vyond community again. The purpose of memes is to make others laugh, but they are just good characters hating on bad characters, using them as mouthpieces to express their repetitive and tiring opinions. They've pretty much ruin the Drake memes and the Shrek scene as well as their undying hatred for typical bad media. DeviantArt is all about fanart, not low effort memes that are always about expressing opinions. Tribute memes and crying memes also don't work as they are incredibly bland, as well as characters watching or laughing at bad characters crying (which could also be hypocritical for Caillou haters as they hate him for his tantrums). The only good ones in my opiniom are recast and Top 10s because I like saying my opinions, but not using characters as mouthpieces or ruining memes with photoshopped characters. Anyways, I wish all of them would delete every meme on DeviantArt because they've flooded the site with their repetitive and undying hatred for bad media and people, and it also makes them look like manchilds and that nostalgia is way better than anything in the late 2010s and 2020s (which isn't true). Good video, and I wish every fill-in meme user would get permanently banned from DeviantArt for spamming memes.

Agree with you all on that, DeviantArt has the word "art" in the name and therefore it should be about art such as fan-art, renders, photography and other kinds of good-art that is there just to offer. Not some lame stupid lazily made memes that are called "memes", weird fetishs and probably some other stupid things that just don't make no sense and of course A.I generated crap which spams the site completely. If I were to imagine a different website that is like DeviantArt, I would say it would have a design similar to the "Golden-Era" of the website like in the olden days and there's like rules that would be "no low effort/low quality, no AI crap, no NSFW/fetishes" to the point where it's more cleaner and more friendlier than DeviantArt nowadays.
