SAME HERE!!! hell i even skipped all the new game releases as well.... still playing MK11, Injustice 2, Power wash sim, Mass effect legendary, no man's sky, vampire survivors and a few others.... i can't wait to buy a few new games off Steam and GOG once my new PC is done....new meaning new to me but older games lol I plan to get Cyberpunk if not right away then when it's on sale, Satisfactory, Techtonica and GOG edition of Fallout 4 with London.... but that's the short list, I do have 40+ games on steam already and about 100 max on wishlist between GOG and Steam....I shoulda done this years ago! [built the PC of my dreams i mean] i'm just excited to get away from the same 5 or so games I've been on for ages now....and to get back to techtonica since my X1 failed on me...i really liked the game!

YAY! You counted Megalopolis! It just beat out Legend of Chun-Li for my personal worst movie of all time because I don't regularly watch bad movies. Also yeah I can confirm that movie quality is what is keeping people out of theaters. The Alamo near me plays old films a lot and they almost always sold out. Like UHF and Flash Gordon. Both sold out. It has actually been interesting keeping track of what movies do good and bad this year. Anime films also do REALLY good. EDIT: Oh yeah, the Target near me no longer sells Blu-Rays. But it sells vinyl records.

@ I agree. Big fan of older movies. There are 6 in The Thin Man series of movies. Hope you get a chance to see them all. I’m also a fan of Basil Rathbone’s Sherlock Holmes movies. The lack of special effects is made up for by lighting, sets & acting.

I mostly just watched my youth wither on the vine this year, gazed in morbid awe as my will dwindled and shifted into lukewarm ash, the normally pronounced and demanding ache of longing somehow becoming muted by the apathetic and unrelenting passage of time. And Moana 2 with my family. It was so-so

I haven’t seen it (and won’t) but Blink Twice seemed like a glorified Lifetime Originals movie to me. The other issue with going to the movies is that the nearest one to me is almost an hour, and they never have the movies I actually care about seeing.

Bad horror movies get released so often because they tend to be cheap to make but tend to pull a profit, even if small. A lot of them also do very well with streaming.

I‘m not an expert, just a regular guy, I would like to add my 50 Cents. For me the golden age was the 80/90, because the production costs had not skyrocketed, yet. Imagine the sales pitch for Die Hard today: what’s the story about? Estranged couple try to celebrate Christmas together, but are interrupted by fake terrorists to try to rob the company the wife is working at. The husband is trapped in the building, and because he is a police officer, he is fighting the bad guys. First of all, toxic male is taking action without asking for permission? Next, what are his super powers? Was something like this done before, and how successful was this movie? Dismissed, let‘s make a remake of a movie that was successful in the past, and switch the main character from male to female lead. What about Tarzan, the girl raised by apes, and she is rescuing this clueless aristocrat who tries to find the origin of the Nile? Yeah, let’s do this movie!

I truly appreciate your channel and how your videos tend to dissect media for what it is, rather than heaping subjectivity about it - you have an air about you that befuddles any preconceived notions one could have from knowing your age/generation (I'm guessing you're closer to millennial than not), while fully articulating your theses in a way that - at least, to me - seems to bridge the generational gaps. I say it like this because I've a feeling age and generation wholly influence our perception of what's "good", more so nowadays. The whole "Star Wars ewoks thing". Woof, that was long. Sucks to live in NY. Movie tickets here are $6.50 with Saturday having kids prices for $3.00. Two movie theatres, both packed. We usually get a "new" release for 1 weekend, then wait 3 months until it comes back. One movie theatre has 4 screens, seats about 100 people in each, the other has a single screen opera house style. Concessions are not cheap though. That's where you spend the bulk here.

Horror movies are cheap to make, so most are profitable. Plus, they don't require any stars to sell them. By the way, mediocre means right in the middle. Neither good nor bad. Something can't be "more mediocre", only "mediocre". Therefore, if Mufasa is mediocre, it can't be one of the worst movies of the year.

I disagree with GB: Frozen Empire. Ghostbusters has plenty of mythology (between the comics, games, The Real Ghostbusters and Extreme Ghostbusters). The big problem is that we need to focus on the main cast and not stay 100% stuck in the past.

I get it, physical media forever, but I'll cut to the chase. I have unfortunately come to the conclusion that no matter how much we collect, physical is on its last legs and barrowed time. The prices for even a standard bluray have gotten ridiculous, the digital copies that used to be standard are gone, and that removes value because without them you're VERY limited on viewing options cause everything has been going to no disc no matter what we try. Seriously, unless there's laws passed to force the preservation of physical media, it'll be going either to a incredibly niche hobby due to increasing costs (that'll continue to get worse as the hardware to play them starts breaking down) or physical media will just be going bye-bye.

Went to see Romulus in theater and expected to like the movie yet hate the theater experience. I was right of course , movie was killer but the theater was bad. The screen image was like 480p and the bulb brightness was on super low so you could hardly see anything. Gaming on my big 4K tv has spoiled me I guess. I don’t mind watching low resolution but not lowResolution+DarkAF.

I can't believe Civil War wasn't mentioned on this list! The film explains literally nothing and is just scene a - scene a over and over again. Why are california and texas allies against the usa? 'idk' Why is gas now suddenly 300 bucks a gallon? 'idk' Who are these 2 other factions like the Florida Republic? 'idk' Who is the sitting president of this universe and why does one side want to protect him while the other is trying to kill him? 'idk' "I don't know" is the answer to every single one of those and it baffles me that nobody even talks about how god awful the writing and "story" direction is!

I think the point of this movie was to impress on a jaded and ignorant public how hard and emotionally draining the lives of photojournalists are and how vital a service they provide. You can see how well these assertions were taken to heart from the film's box office take- and arguably the 2024 election results. Regardless, it's not worth anyone's time.

The film is from the perspectives of those same journalists who've been living in this hell-scape for some time now; if anything from that perspective it just makes the narrative worse!

1. Not everything needs an explanation and many times it is better to not have one, so viewer can fill in the blanks. It may be done well and by design, but it can also be just lousy writing. In case of CV I would argue it's the former. 2. If someone doesn't know the answers to some of those questions (like e.g. gas price), then maybe they're not the target audience but this is not the movie's fault. It just needs people who understand the basics (even if they may sometimes overdo certain aspects - 300 may be a little steep but it puts the point across). How far should any movie go with explaining everything that should be more or less understandable?
