Very sweet way to end the video. We love you Dan! You're thanking us but we also thank you for being one of, if not the best at what you do. It's nothing short of selfless that you were able to put out all this content for us in 2024 despite what life threw your way. Happy to be and continue to be a Channel Member to show my support. You're the man brother. Looking forward to the first video of 2025!

Great to see Nicholas Hoult getting better in recent years. I've been knowing this guy's talent since he was a boy in "About A Boy" and I'm sorry that I haven't been able to finish his series, "Skins" which I desperately needed to finish that before Superman comes out. Anyway, great guy, great actor, great year and so happy for him, I can't wait to see him crush as Lex Luthor in the new Superman movie

Like 5 minutes into "The Substance", I turned to my BF and was like "This movie has amazing editing" (I am an editor) and my BF (who is a writer) got zoned in with the script. And then it kept going and going and going. It is gross, but flawlessly done with a royal dash of humor. Best movie since "Parasite",

I can't comprehend how the hell Zack Snyder was given so much creative control for these two Rebel Moon movies and yet he still screwed it up. People wanted Snyder to have more creative control for his movies right? Well, he gave it all with these Rebel Moon and still sucked. The more I hear his name, the more I'm glad that James Gunn took over DC 😅

Fun fact. At this year’s ‘The Game Awards’, there was a category for ‘Best Adaptation’. Almost every video game -> tv/film adaptation that came out this year got nominated, even the Knuckles series from Paramount plus, which was pretty divisive among fans of the Sonic games and movies. The ONLY adaptation that did not get nominated for the award, was Borderlands. They very easily could’ve nominated it by adding a slot, which they do for plenty of categories when they can’t narrow it down enough. But they didn’t. They said nope. They didn’t even give Borderlands the participation trophy of being nominated. And I found that to be the biggest middle finger they could’ve possibly done to that movie.

There was no question in me and so many others coming back to your channel Dan. The box office breakdowns, the rants, the news coverage, and the palpable passion for movies is impossible to ignore. The news earlier on in the year was very sad to hear, and I think I've noticed that you don't pat your heart anymore to sign off on videos. I just hope that, even if that tradition doesn't come back because it was linked to an earlier phase of your life, I hope that this phase becomes something in the rearview that the bitter memories fade from, leaving the more pleasurable ones to stay.

Look Back was my second favorite film of this past year and I cannot believe how much it has to say in less than an hour. It never wastes your time and that is something it should be praised and studied for. I think anyone who has ever pondered the question, "what drives artists to create art?" would absolutely love Look Back. It also has one of the best usages of montage that I have seen in a film.

I'm an analytical person personally & professionally so appreciate all your chart work as well. I'm impressed how you keep up with all of it every single week. One of my only things I'd throw out there for you to consider which I'm guessing you have often & have your reasons why it hasn't happened is adding a cohost/sidekick/#2 to allow you to be conversational in videos. I think that would help level up your quality & subscription count. Regardless, thank you for what you do!
