Iron Chain dragon was a staple in the early synchros days mostly because it was a level 6 dragon Debris Dragon could go into, not that you would want to go into it but the 2500 beater summoned by one card was great and the Gaia synchro was not an option. Magical Android was also a staple because there were no better options, but 600 lp gain probably came in clutch in a few games back then During time. My guess is Davinator didn’t start playing yugioh until the end of the synchro era/beginning of the XYZ era.

Iron Chain Dragon was relevant when we did not have Orient Dragon because of the restriction on Depris Dragon. Magical Android was relevant because it opened up for the lv 5 synchro before we god Catastor and it was essensial in the Mind Master Plant deck, which basically reduced the users lp to 800 and in the end phase gained 9000. Field Marshall is a little the same was as Magical Android, though not everyone ended up playing it. Though it may not have been that relevant there are certainly other synchros which would make more sense to be on the list

burning newt I’m intrigued. You know... I’m extremely embarrassed to say, but a week before crush card hit, my shadoll invokes deck actually lost to a guy at locals and his stupid Jackpot 7 deck. He creature swapped my winda, gave me a dark scorpion, summoned 3 hippo tokens and milled his 3 cards for game one. Beat him game two, game 3 he dark rulered me, then did almost the exact same thing as last time, eve though I made Bow Goddes, Caliga and winda. I thought I was ready... but he summoned 3 hippo tokens ... and attacked my dark scorpion that he gave me... and won with jackpot 7.

@Light Revaan I have a solution for you, don't play then. Tournament entry has grown like crazy, sets have been at a high especially the reprint sets. Yeah the game is faster but that isn't a bad this T pass was slow, and could be just as boring. And don't forget back then we had full power dragon rulers, we had spellbooks of judgement, soul charge at 3. There will always be broken cards. But the game is super fun these days before cv.

Hilariously, in Duel Links when Psychic Nightmare came out it could be used in an relatively consistent OTK deck. By using both Psychic Tracker and Wheeleder you could make its attack 3000 through the effect of Tracker, pop a weaker monster card with the effect of Wheeleder, then using Nightmare's effect you could get to 4000. This was by no means Meta though as Canadia/Floodgate Traphole was so prevalent back then it made making Synchro monsters very hard if you went 2nd.

You can technically recycle your Magical Androids with the effect of Expressroid, which says something along the lines of "when this card is normal summoned, you can return two 'roid' monsters from your graveyard to your hand." Trust me, best engine in quasar decks for sure

Dark Flattop: Dark lv8 machine 0/3000 Materials: 1 dark tuner and 1+ non tuner machines Effect: 1) special summon a “reactor” or “Fly Fortress SKY FIGHTER” ignoring summoning conditions 2) if this card is destroyed and sent to grave special summon a lv5 or lower machine from hand First: summoning conditions are way too specific. And if you need a dark tuner, summon beelze Second: the monsters it can summon suck (the ancient gear reactor dragon is a lv9 so you wouldn’t run it in a deck for lv8 synchros) Third: if it summoned from grave it would be a nice float but from hand is meh

Signal warrior was meant to be a direct reference to the card speed world from 5Ds. In the anime speed world would give you speed counters and removing them would (in order) allow you to burn your opponent by discarding a speed spell for 4, draw a card for 7, or pop a monster for 10 counters which was hardly ever used.

As a Shiranui player, Swordsaga irritates me to no end because: 1: It's a Level 5 synchro in a deck that focuses mainly on level 6, 8 and 10 monsters. 2: To summon it in its own deck you need the level 3 tuner - who is better used to summon back your banished monsters or summoning Squiresaga - and an even worse monster called Shiranui Swordmaster, which is literally the only level 2 non-tuner monster in the deck and has an overly restrictive summoning condition. 3: The battle change effect is so 1999 it's painful. If it gave the option to change a monster face-down, that would have been acceptable, but it doesn't. 4: The token effect is good, but consider this: You had to use two monsters to make Swordsaga, then have it banished in order to get that token. Not what I'd call optimal resource management. Even if Shiranui get more support in the future - and I believe they will based on the lore - it still won't make Swordsaga good. If it were a synchro tuner like Formula Synchron, maybe it could have had a redeeming quality, but it's not.

Signal warrior is part of an archetype some guy who worked at a lighthouse has all of them put signal counters and their field spell removed 2 to negate an effect and 4 to basically soul charge monsters. Their monsters gave each other signal counters like every turn and each had effect something kinda like F A gaining levels so signal warrior is probably on this list only because its support never made it out of the anime.

asswing Sayo is hiding IN the rain but it doesn't matter cause if your opponent is planning to just remove your monsters by battle and has more than 2, Sayo dies anyway. You're definitely right that it's more fin to talk about bad cards cause with a good list you can usually guess some of the cards and what is there to talk about? I played a psychic deck back in the day and I always used Psychic Nightmare as a bridge to bring out lv 8 synchros. He rarely did anything on his own, but he served a few purposes. I wouldn't say he's a "great" card, but I certainly wouldn't call him the worst synchro monster in the game.

If you're gonna run a Psychic Nightmare at least make it using Psychic Wheelelder and a Psychic Tracker as synchro materials so you can get Wheelelder's effect to pop a face up monster card on the field and Tracker's 600atk buff making Nightmare into a 3000 beat stick that can get an additional 1000 buff giving it bigger nuuuuuumbahs. And yes I run it in duel links.

Honestly if not for the MR4 revision Junk Speeder would be an atrocious card. Even with it it isn’t much better IMO. You can only summon Synchro monsters from the Extra Deck the turn you use its summon effect and the card only summons Synchron Tuners so unless you’re cycling through your Warriors or have other special summonable monsters on hand you can’t really go far with it

Um... why are you complaining that Atomic Scrap Dragon’s protect is “by battle or card effect”? It’s better like that in case your Opponent somehow manages to run it over but still gets its effect on card effect pop too. Now if it was only by battle I’d agree but I don’t like floating effects that only work on destruction by card effect because while yes that happens more often to bigger guys, it just gives another Opening where my Opponent can easily out it and make me just lose everything.

Disagree with signal warrior being on here now thanks to support cards like on your mark get set duel and synchro world that also use signal counters since he really helps to generate counters for those cards allowing you to draw 2 extra cards, change the levels of your monsters or even bring them back from the graveyard. sure it's still not an amazing card as you can still generate a lot of counters without it but it still does really help the deck now with those support cards enough that I can't really agree with it being considered one of the worst synchros in the game I think there's far worse cards that could take the spot now such as catapult warrior, scrap archfiend or gravity warrior

Signal warrior is designed to work with the “Synchro world” field spell. The same counters go on that and there’s also a continuous spell that can get them. U can accumulate the needed counters in a single turn. Maybe actually do ur research before making a list cus any card can be “bad” when u force it out of its designed context.

I feel like single warriors isnt the worst card since it has decent protection on it and thier decks that can put counters on the board so that you benefit. I could see play but rarely would.
